Hey Doc,
I talked to Jim@ARB about this last fall, and his comment was lack of interest in late model taco buyers.
You can put me on the list again.
Keep me posted if you find anything new out!
Update- Got a 51k lbs semi unstuck today
Jayheats,
A friend of mine drives a auto transport and last night he parked in ground that was quite a bit softer than he would have liked.
He called me this am to help him get unstuck.
I was a bit reluctant to attempt to pull him out with the Tacoma...
Supposedly it cuts down on glare reflecting off of the hood into your eyes. Kind of like the way Fighter jets used to have a black area in front of the cockpit.
A friend of mine did that to his already black XJ.
I guess that it could make a difference in some situations.
Are you looking at the Revos?
I got the PMetrics instead of the LT sizes which at first I regretted.
My tires have been through a lot of punishment including an extremely rocky trail in Nevada that went on forever and really have lasted well. They have done extremely well in mud and snow as...
I actually used the bottle jack when I put mine on, as I had no assistance.
It worked pretty well, but you had to have it positioned just right, otherwise it would slip out.
Congrats on the Ticket!
The 8800R is a nice radio. I have one in my commute vehicle and I really like it a lot. It seems to have better weak signal performance that my Kenwood.
If possible, mount it high. The readout and buttons are kind of small. I mounted mine on the right side of my...
Weather is usually pretty nice.
My experience with Yosemite and north is that the color actually depends on the year. If you are looking for fall color, later (October)is usually better.
To get back on thread,
I headed up to Shaver Lake on early Sunday morning, and decided to take the road...
Hey guys, I know it is a little late, but is anyone up for it?
I am almost thinking of a trip through Sequoia and then up through Walker pass to the White mountains.
I am debating whether or not to take Friday and Monday off.
Anyone?
Too bad about the rig being in the shop.
Adam and I were kicking around a trip around the 24th of June. Probably short notice for the whole group, but might be doable as a pre-run.
Does that sound workable for anyone?
DOes anyone know what the downside is to putting a tire on too narow a rim?
For example, if the recommended rim width is 7.5-8" and you put the tire on a 7" rim, what are the repercussions?
I took a look at my engine compartment today and it probably would not be to hard to fabricate an H1 type snorkel going through the hood.
The air filter is on the passenger side of that blob on top of the engine, and there is a duct that goes up to the right front fender
Kind of like this...
I am wondering if the 05 Taco is being sold in Australia.
I am guessing that Australia and other international sales is one of the primary drivers of snorkel production.
A few months ago I looked on the Toyota Australia website and I saw the HiLux, which appears to be different than the Taco...
