Post Xmas Laguna Hansen to San Filipe (Baja)

We went the other way, from Laguna Salada up to L. Hansen. It was slow and bumpy! We never really made L. Hansen - several locked gates and ranchos in the way. We bailed out and dropped down to Valle T. It is doable, just not as direct as it might appear based on maps and photos. There are...

    Nice find, thanks for sharing.

    Baja California, Mexico 11/07

No no no...never camp there. It is not safe. There is, uh, whooping-scarlet-fever-cough-bird-flu there. Ya, that's it, and plague, too, lots of plague. Stay far away, like in Hesperia or something...

    Baja Almanac

I bought my last two at El Palomar in Santo Thomas. I have both the older, smaller page version and the newer, larger format.

Going to the Baja 1000 in November?

We'll be there, as with many here it is a highlight of our yearly Baja adventures. We've plotted out hypothetical courses looking to approximate the milage, but it is all guess work at this time. We're not racing this year so it will be a much more relaxing time. Our current thought is to watch...

Motion X GPS HD v21 released

I've been using GPS Kit and it is OK - I shied away from Motion X because at the time the current version had removed the offline/cache functionality. Are you damiliar with GPS Kit, and if so, how would you compare it to Motion X? Thanks, Rob

Locating the final resting place of Gerard Vultee of Vultee Aircraft

Thanks for sharing. Some of the most...unusual...aircraft were created by his company.

    2013 Baja 500 pre-running photos(second set)

We'll be at tech as well, hoping to get there about 10. In the past we pitted down by Erendira, but as you mentioned, with the course change they don't think they can make it that far on fuel. Car #114. Have a safe and inexpensive weekend!

    2013 Baja 500 pre-running photos(second set)

Thanks for the pics - looking forward to the weekend! We'll be down for the race - camping a bit further south down by shipwrecks, moving up to our pit location (RM 320±) Saturday - not expecting our car to arrive until around 9. Thanks again.

LATEST PROJECT - Truck Drawers/Sleeping Platform

Check out Oysrer's build, he used a product called monstaliner (?) that might work. http://www.expeditionportal.com/forum/threads/93292-Stitch-and-glue-Lightweight-platform-update My blatant copy of your setup is also working well. I did make the slide out table we discussed but have never...

Any comparisons between the rigid and other economy LED bars?

There was a group buy on alien LEDs a while back, I think most people had a positive experience. http://www.expeditionportal.com/forum/threads/83683-Gb-Alien-led-light-bars!-(Closed)?highlight=Alien

    Fabricating a fridge slide

Try this for the roller bearing slide concept. I subsitituted angle iron for the square tube. http://www.expeditionportal.com/forum/threads/47516-LATEST-PROJECT-Truck-Drawers-Sleeping-Platform

    Front receiver hitch 01-04 Tacoma

Not Tacoma specific, but I bought a Curt front reciever for my 06 Tundra and it didn't fit - going back and forth with the manufacturer to determine the problem. The Curt unit allows the front skidplate to remain in place - a similar product from Reese requires the skidplate to be removed and...

Stitch and glue Lightweight platform update

Very nice work! I am currently contemplating version 2.0 of my platform and drawer assembly and am focused on sheding some pounds: how would you rate the difficulty of the stitch and glue method for the 'average joe' woodworker?
