WTB Budget weekend adventure rig $3k in KY

That's a solid looking rig, but it's a pinch out of my budget once I add in transportation costs. Do you have a link to any extra pictures? Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk

WTB Budget weekend adventure rig $3k in KY

I might be barking up the wrong tree here, but some of the best budget vehicle ideas I've found came from this community, so I figured it was worth a shot. Looking for a running and somewhat mechanically sound 4x4 SUV. Main use of the rig will be camping trips and some light off roading, so it...

Land Rover Discovery 5 (LR5?) in the wild

Unfortunately, people like us are now a small minority of potential new Land Rover buyers. The majority of folks that buy a new LR want this soft garbage. I'll pass. I'd rather keep dumping money into a leaky Discovery 1. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G890A using Tapatalk

    Looking for a Discovery 1

Picked it up today and drove it 6 hours back to Louisville with no issue. Offically back in the game! Thanks Stu! Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G890A using Tapatalk

    Looking for a Discovery 1

Thanks for the info. I believe I have a D1 automatic lined out for this weekend. Higher miles at 177k but, has a stack of maintenance records including a recent head gasket job. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G890A using Tapatalk

    Looking for a Discovery 1

I know there's a for sale section on this forum but, I really wanted to see if my fellow Rover owners could point me in the right direction! I'm currently hunting for a good Disco 1 to begin building. I unfortunately had to sell my Discovery 1 a couple of months back and I'm tired of staring at...

    Am I Crazy????

We have an 07 Lr3 v8 and it's been hit or miss. We've had some issues although, those issues aren't necessarily different from what any other used car might have. Let's just say this, same rules apply for buying an LR3 as they did when buying a Discovery. If the vehicle doesn't have maintenence...

Discovery 1 Road trip preparation ?'s

I've been slowly getting things accomplished. I threw on new calipers and pads on the front and got some new treads yesterday. Upon further inspection, the rear pads are looking thin so, I'll be replacing those as well this week. Still need a few things but, it's coming together! Sent from...

Discovery 1 Road trip preparation ?'s

Nice! Great encouragement for our trip ahead. What type of fuel mileage did you get? I'll be at stock height with slightly larger than stock tires. Nothing outrageous. As for an update on the maintence.. I went to do my brake pads yesterday and couldn't get the pistons on the front calipers...

Discovery 1 Road trip preparation ?'s

Great advice. I've had few surprises thus far with it. I drive it about 50 miles a day and it's never let me down. Although, I do recognize the fact that 1999, although it doesn't feel like it, was 17 years ago. Regardless of the make or model, old parts will eventually give way. I really...

Discovery 1 Road trip preparation ?'s

Nice list. I like to tinker in the garage so, this will give me plenty to do! Ive had the car for about a year and there are alot of unknowns. But, atleast there is plenty of time! The tires will be new before we leave so, that one is covered. A trip through Canada sounds fun BTW! Sent from my...

Discovery 1 Road trip preparation ?'s

I think that's partly true. But, driving 2500+ miles is alot different than the regular commute. It's due for maintenence and I figured while I was spending money on it, it would be a good time to ask for suggestions. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G890A using Tapatalk

Discovery 1 Road trip preparation ?'s

Hello all. I've been entertaining the idea of driving my 99 D1 on our annual family road trip this summer. It's a decent running vehicle that I daily drive and has around 167k miles currently. I would be driving from Kentucky to Arizona to do some backcountry exploring. Most of the trip from KY...

Red River Gorge Area of the Danial Boone National Forrest.

I've burned many tanks of gas in that area. The whole Daniel Boone National Forest has great trails. We usually go 3 or 4 times a year. Never gets old!
