so with the FCIIs gone, whats the new hotness for A/T with epic winter performance?

I ran mine in 6" of new snow on top of hard-pack a few weeks ago up in Eldorado National Forest, and they did really well. So far I've only got good things to say about the AT3Ws, I'm really impressed. :)

Seal or paint the INSIDE of my ugly fiberglass truck shell?

I repainted the inside of my fiberglass slide-in pod with flat white project enamel after a vigorous scrub. It was used in a masonry role before me, so the inside was really beat. The enamel paint adhered well and took to the fiberglass really nicely with a regular paint roller. After a few...

    Ram 3500/Lance 865 build

I picked up a new 2500 single cab with the G56 a few months ago, and I absolutely love it. I can get 19-20mpg on the highway pretty consistently with my small slide-in camper shell loaded up with a week's worth of provisions and gear. I'm really impressed with the transmission so far, you'll be...

Project AWOL: 1986 CUCV M1010 Ambulance

I pulled the covers off my M1010 a couple weekends ago to inspect and change fluid, and I'd say it took me 3x as long to scrape all the old factory gasket material off the housing and the cover than to do the rest of the job. Crazy. I'm not sure what they used originally, but it definitely...

    PA: Used Duratrac 285/75R16

I've got four used Goodyear Duratrac tires in 285/75R16 size that are taking up too much space in my shop. They came off of my jeep last month. The front set had some odd wear from blown shocks, with 3/8" - 1/8" left in a varied, tiger-striped pattern. The rear two still have good tread left...

M1010 expo build. The Mountain Turtle

I may have to steal your molle-dash idea... I've been struggling with having the basics accessible while on the move, and that seems like a great solution! I'll +1 the M1010's length being a huge plus. I really value being able to go wherever while traveling, and in an urban setting it is still...

The CUCV Build-1986 M1031 Mobile Field Maintenance Assault Vehicle

I'm super impressed with the shower system! It's a great solution instead of having to pop into a campground or chain gym for a shower while out on an adventure. Do you put a mat or plank down beneath the shower, or just deal with muddy feet?

The CUCV Build-1986 M1031 Mobile Field Maintenance Assault Vehicle

I've been at it for a few weeks doing just that. I've gutted most of their wacky light and aux circuits, and been trying to figure out how the crap their extra under-hood wiring works... All the same color, of course. They actually did a halfway decent "Plan-B" DUVAC removal, but I'm taking all...

The CUCV Build-1986 M1031 Mobile Field Maintenance Assault Vehicle

It sounds like your hybrid use will fit the maintenance body perfectly... I'm excited to see it come together. You're spot on, my M1010 is an electrical nightmare. The sheriff's department that ran the truck before made extra sure of it when they started cutting :)

The CUCV Build-1986 M1031 Mobile Field Maintenance Assault Vehicle

Great to see a contact maintenance truck being built up!! I bought an M1010 ambulance a few months ago to build up, but I've always really liked the concept of an expedition-ish M1031. Can't wait to see what you do with her :)

M1010 expo build. The Mountain Turtle

Love the build, and thanks for sharing your adventures with us! My wife's kitchen requirements for our M1010 are also a "just-in-case coffee and dinner spot" :) It would certainly help make a long travel day a bit easier to wind down. It sounds like the trailer is the right way for you to go...

    1999 Chevy S10 ZR2 Camper build.

Ah, I've always wanted to somehow camper-ize a ZR2... I'm looking forward to following your build!

FOR SALE: 1984 M1010 CUCV Ambulance

The drive went well! Hold it at 55 and throw the flashers on. You've got to bite at the next M1010 that might make sense for you, they are awesome trucks! :smiley_drive:

FOR SALE: 1984 M1010 CUCV Ambulance

Just for continuity's sake, I picked up this rig from OK a few weeks ago and drove it 1100 miles back to PA. We're planning to build ourselves a capable expo camper, and I'll start a build thread together once I get a few essentials wrapped up. I'll throw a link here once I start the thread...

Front Runner Slimline Roof Rack Experiences

I'm thrilled with mine! I haven't noticed any creaks/squeaks when loaded up or empty, on or off road. It's an awesome rack.
