diesel fuel filter / water separator

Rick, look at the list I posted. Most of those filters are $10 or less, depending on which one(s) select. The 3770 filter head is getting hard to find as-is. But it's easy if you just go to the Perma-Cool site and order their 1-14" threaded filter head, it's a little bit more than the $24...

    Open fire cooking setups?

I do have a forge, but I didn't use it to make the tripod, just cut off 3/8" eye bolts and then welded them onto the end of the rod. I did use the forge to make the dinner bell, but that was just to heat the metal up so I could bend it into the three angles you see in the pic. Good luck.

    Generator grounding

Don't ground. I don't have the NEC to quote from, so I won't (should be in section 250). Basically, it's safer to not run a separate ground on portable gensets. I know, I used to do it too. If I can find the specific reference tomorrow at work, I'll post it up. Good luck.

diesel fuel filter / water separator

Can't help with the heater part of it, but here's fairly decent list of fuel filters that show which one have drains etc. Don't like Napa/Wix, just cross to your favorite brand and go to town. Good luck.

    Metal NATO water can issue

Sounds like you have two, almost brand new, jerry fuel cans, minus a few minutes with a spray paint can. You can't reliably fix those for less than two brand new MWCs from LCI, IMO.

    Open fire cooking setups?

The firepit weighs around 100-120 lbs, it stays in the back yard where you see it; it's only moved when we need to mow the back yard. The tripod and grill are easy to transport; the grill comes apart so it lays flat, the tripod, no more than three 1/2" bars about 48" long, no biggie. Thanks,

    Open fire cooking setups?

Did someone mention cast iron? My firepit set up in my back yard: firepit made from materials donated by the local Southern Pacific railroad, grill that fits over the firepit, tripod to hang a cast iron dutch oven and a dinner bell. All homemade. Good luck.

Gerber Military Tactical LMF II - A.S.E.K. Knife $59

I difference I noted (I got the SAE spec from work - PM if anyone wants a copy) is that the SAE spec calls for a leather grip and sheath, neither of which the Gerber LMF II has, but the original ASEK does. Just what I saw in the 2-5 seconds I glanced at it while saving it on my HD. I don't...

Auxiliary fuel tank for 01 Tacoma reg cab

I'd have to reinstall it in it's cage, but other than that, no. I did it so it came on passenger side so it would be on the same side as the OEM fill. On this particular tank, the fill port went off to the side of the tank, but there isn't any real forward or rear to the tank that I can see...

Auxiliary fuel tank for 01 Tacoma reg cab

Thanks! Relook at the first pic: at the extreme upper left corner of the wheel well, you can just barely see the fill cap I took off an '89 toy 4runner. It's not as fast as OEM, but it works ok. Good luck. Al

Auxiliary fuel tank for 01 Tacoma reg cab

Pics of my 26 gallon NOS Blazer diesel aux fuel tank in my 4runner. I had to cut out the spare tire equipment and the rear crossover support and fabricate a replacement. I've heard of a typical F-150 fuel tank being about the same size, so that should work also. Note from the pics below that...

    Fuel Transfer Tank

I have or have had three vehicles with aux fuel tanks, all filled the OEM tank via gravity feed. My first was my old '85 Nissan Pickup with a now-defunct Auxiliary Fuel Systems 15 gallon tank that went up above the spare tire in back of the rear axle. Worked great except for the slow filling...
