New FWC Finch Shell Build (2008 Tacoma)

Had Sierra Expeditions in tempe, az install the battery and system on the passenger side. They knew of one place in my model year where they could move the ABS module to just fit a reverse-polarity odyssey 1500 battery (check pics on my first post of this thread). I was VERY impressed with...

The TARDIS - A Four Wheel Camper Build

If I've followed the TARDIS build correctly, that hose goes to the whale pump and faucet above the sink (near the window). Might be the way I go to if I ever get a sink, but I'm content with my new setup on a scepter can in the little spot by the camper door for now (like post #37 on...

New FWC Finch Shell Build (2008 Tacoma)

Checked out the latest press release on their website - looks like I just need to hope for a buyer of United Solar: http://www.uni-solar.com/2012/05/energy-conversion-devices-cancels-going-concern-auction-of-united-solar/

New FWC Finch Shell Build (2008 Tacoma)

Solar install **Sorry for the sideways pictures. They appear in portrait on my computer, but I don't know how to rotate them on these posts.**Moderator assistance? Well, I finally got around to getting solar setup on my camper. Went with one of the closeout Unisolar 68-watt stick on types and...

Which Solar Panel kit to buy?

Just ordered one of the last batch of unisolar 68 watt stick-on solar panels. Looks like it will just fit my FWC Finch and I'll run the cables over the front of the cabover and straight down the right windowsill gap of my front windshield to my charge controller and battery under the hood. No...

    Forest Service Road Adventure Mobile

Looking to go with one of these thin-film solar panels on the top of my FWC Finch to keep up my ARB 50L fridge (attached as the "load" on the charge controller?) and recharge my 70AH AGM house battery during winter use of my forced-air furnace. What kind of charge controller do you have setup...

The TARDIS - A Four Wheel Camper Build

Check out my Finch Shell Setup - been happy with the simple affair with just the forced-air furnace and stovetop to add to the base weight. Never go a month without use and average 60 nights/year at 1-4 nights each time. My girlfriend and I have been comfortable in this lighter setup. You can...

The TARDIS - A Four Wheel Camper Build

Yeah - work has me in Kanab from time to time now. Girlfriend had me over there more regular, but she's up here now (making the weekly escapes in the FWC so much easier!). We enjoyed the accessibility of living in Kanab and Page during the winter, but it sure is nice having Boulder Mountain...

The TARDIS - A Four Wheel Camper Build

Thanks for the recommendation - looks like I ordered my two just after your post. Been thinking of using my REI member discount on one (20% off, $168, http://www.rei.com/product/797491/therm-a-rest-dreamtime-sleeping-pad) and my girlfriend's as well, but ended up finding the same price at...

New FWC Finch Shell Build (2008 Tacoma)

Belated updates... Well, I finally am getting around to some updates here. Haven't had the cash to put into some of the bigger items I've been dreaming of lately (solar setup, extending the battery bank under the hood - if I can find anymore space, Relentless front bumper, swing-out rear...

    FWC & spare tire

CBI spare tire swing-down receiver mount You can check out my setup at: http://www.expeditionportal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=52153 I had CBI fab it with a receiver extension that can be used for trailering, etc. AS WELL as the ability to swing all the way down (and provide a step up to my...

New FWC Finch Shell Build (2008 Tacoma)

Had the guys at Sierra Expeditions install the IBS system and aux battery. They moved the ABS closer to the firewall to fit the battery and mount. I'll try to get a better shot of that setup tomorrow.

New FWC Finch Shell Build (2008 Tacoma)

Fuel storage under truck bed (old spare tire location) Haven't forgotten about posting some new interior pics, as requested - just need to wait for some better weather to get some good shots. So after a weekend of pushing through very deep sand in 4x4 most of the time, I'm realizing I need to...

New FWC Finch Shell Build (2008 Tacoma)

Still buzzin' from a great road trip out to Reno last weekend to pickup my new FWC Finch Shell - and especially the "scenic way" back enjoying all of the comforts of my transition from sleeping in a cab-high camper shell to a heated full camper. Here are some shots of the truck/camper setup on...

The TARDIS - A Four Wheel Camper Build

Gosh! Seems like there are quite a few of us looking at ordering a Finch shell soon! I'll probably order mine later this week or early next week and was going to go with just the factory furnace and 60" yakima tracks options (been on the fence on whether to get the screen door) - now I'm...
