How would you outfit this custom LJ?

LJ Commando If you are ever needing an orange LJ for the Commando fit-up let me know. I was just thinking of a modern 17" equivalent of the old Jackman wheels...maybe a powdercoated set of Methods. Jeep daydreams are the best.

    On Road Amber Lights

I had KC Slimltes in the stock bumper location on my wrangler. Last fall I tinted them to mimic selective yellow using krylon metalcast (search "metalcast" to get pages of threads). I loved the difference, but 1 winter of salt spray and my daily 5 mile freeway drive blasted the coating off as if...

    LJ for Overland

I have had my 2006 LJR for 4 years and it works fine if your child is old enough to get in with minimal assistance. Children's car seats are another story; you cannot reach the car seat buckles when standing outside the car. The car seat is only installed on special occasions as it is usually in...

Round Off-road lights... What to do?

I am also trying to stay with a round light for my Jeep, I have KC's on the a-pillars now but want led's. Baja Designs has some nice ones but my "want" doesn't totally justify the cost. Someday I'll cave in. http://www.bajadesigns.com/pc_product_detail.asp?key=1C2F7CECD2B845528947372E20B148BD

TJ vs JK, best bang for the buck?

BTW, only 2 seatbelts in rear of TJ/LJ, I found out the hard way when we promised 3 children a ride and ran out of seatbelts.

    Back-Up Light Question

I have used the Rigid clone flush mount lights and used the Rigid up/down angled adapters. Giant amount of light from such a small package. I would definitely include a way to not use the lights EVERY time you reverse since they are so bright (thinking of urban situations).

    255/85r16 options

I have the 255 Bighorns on my jeep and they have worn well in the past two years. They have been reviewed as better on wet than the BFG. I would pick them again over the BFG if your three were my choices.

    Let's see your LJ's!

How do you like the Grabbers? They look super cool but I have heard they wear faster than others.

    TJs with 35s???

A word of caution: even factory 4 wheel disc are not that great. I have 2006 LJR with 285/55-16 (33x10.50) and braking is not the best. Black Magic front pads and good rotors were a big improvement. LJs have a couple different needs than TJs but a tummy-tuck was still my biggest gain to date.

    Need help choosing off-road lights!

I thought I have read that the 80's come with a few lens arrangements to swap out. It would be nice to have/order the different lenses to suit your needs.
