    1999 Chevy 1500 Suburban 1500 GMT400 surge/hesitation at cruising speed

Hi Guys, I have a 1999 Suburban 1500 GMT400 with the 5.7 and 4L60E. At highway cruising speeds I'm getting a slight hesitation or surge feeling. Almost like hitting little bumps, but I can tell it's the power hesitating slightly. This only happens at light throttle cruising speeds, like when...

Edgar: The adventures and ramblings of a high mileage 1992 Chevy K1500 RCSB

Those look great, and glad to see the increased performance! Do you have the part numbers for those front and rear KYB's? I'd like to put them on mine after I install the 2" lift. Thanks!

Newbie looking for first rig (Rig acquired, now it's a build thread!)

Thanks Josh! The trans cooler on this rig is surprisingly large, but maybe not enough still? I'll try to post a pic and see what you guys think. I'll look for those shocks also, thanks!

Newbie looking for first rig (Rig acquired, now it's a build thread!)

I'll check out those Husky's, thanks! The trans cooler is pretty big on this thing, I was surprised. I think it's quite a bit bigger than the 2000+ models. I don't plan on towing yet, but If I do, I'll swap it out. That's great news! I'm not a fan of big, extravagant bumpers. I like to...

Newbie looking for first rig (Rig acquired, now it's a build thread!)

I gotta say, I love this rig! It rides so nice and comfy! I'm getting the garage cleaned out now so I can start working on it. Honestly, it doesn't need much. I replaced the wiper blades and wiper control module. The 4wd selector switch lights didn't work so I swapped that out. Next will...

Newbie looking for first rig (Rig acquired, now it's a build thread!)

First thing I want to do is a full tune up. Plugs, wires, etc, etc.... What brands/parts do you guys recommend for these rigs?

Newbie looking for first rig (Rig acquired, now it's a build thread!)

So here's my 1999 Suburban K1500. 182k (mostly highway) miles, but well cared for and regularly serviced. I'm the third owner and the guy I bought it from, bought it from the limo company that he worked for and this is what he drove while working for them. It's the cleanest of any that I...

Suburban vs Excursion for Family of 8

I'm up in northern Idaho. There's a few around, but most are a ways over 200k miles. Found a '99 with 180k that I'm going to try to look at tomorrow. It looks really clean. I have a thread going also so I'll keep it updated and probably start a new thread once I actually buy one.

Suburban vs Excursion for Family of 8

Monty, I loved reading this thread and seeing your success at finding a good rig! My wife and I have 6 kids also, ages 2 to 12. I'm in the same boat and looking for a Suburban. We already have a GMC 12 passenger van so this will be my daily driver (short commute) and...

Hmmmm, good question! I did see an aftermarket hour meter in the dash, didn't catch what the reading was though. I'll ask him about that!

Newbie looking for first rig (Rig acquired, now it's a build thread!)

I looked at the airport fleet one last night: https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/126431359113732 It looks like a solid rig. straight body, no rust, suspension feels tight. I checked the oil and trans fluid and they look normal and clean. It's a definite possible option! The cons: no...

So which one would y'all go for? The 1997 1500 with 129k miles on it. It was a airport fleet vehicle (not rental). $3,500 https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/126431359113732 Or this 2500: https://spokane.craigslist.org/cto/d/coeur-alene-1996-gmc-suburban-2500/7244133793.html OR...

That's great info guys, thank you! I keep finding rigs that get sold quickly, before I even get a chance to see them LOL! Hopefully going to look at one tonight though. 1997 1500 with 129k miles on it. It was a airport vehicle. Interior looks nice and miles are really low! According to the...

Thanks Martin, What does a trans rebuild typically cost? Can the 4l80e be swapped in place of the 4l60e?
