Why not use frozen water bottles for cooler for 2-3 day trips?

I do the same thing only with Nalgene water bottles, plastic milk cartons, and my favorite Arizona iced tea containers....(quality packaging by the way). I keep my freezer stocked with "free ice".

Exterior height of a Palomino ss 1251 or 1500 ON the truck

My FWC hawk on a chevy 2500 just clears my eight foot garage door. I assume the campers you mention are much taller than my FWC.

which truck for a Pop-up Camper

Exactly. My light weight FWC Hawk is 1360 pounds dry. Loaded, wet, 2 people and a big dog I'm packing a bit over a ton. I like being UNDER my 3/4 ton trucks max payload by 600 pounds. Personally, I wouldn't and didn't consider a 1/2 ton. Size wise the GM twins and Rams are essentially the same...

Ah...well apparently Fiat did: "In October, FCA agreed to a voluntary “defect” recall of 74,833 U.S. customer-based alternators in certain 2007-2013 model year Ram trucks and 2011-2014 Dodge Charger police vehicles. Also included in the recall were an additional 10,077 vehicles in...

Questions about Four Wheel Finch pop up – Wind

Been in a lot of high winds with my two FWC and have never felt the need to drop the top. It does get noisy and rocks and rolls but I just put in some ears plugs, have another drink and hang on. Funny, in my old Grandby I sometimes would dry it out by driving down the road with the top up. No...

Questions about Four Wheel Finch pop up – Jacks

Wish I hadn't purchased the jacks....the dealer used them to load the camper and then I put them in the basement 4 years ago. My camper is on full time and the dealer recommended removal especially if used off road. He showed me a camper in for repair when a jack got snagged in a WM parking...

    Crocs?

OP here....had my Crocs for over a year now and they're working out great. Perfect for around the house and especially the yard. I always take them camping for showers, relaxing and nighttime excursions into the weeds. As far as driving, hiking or weddings not so perfect.

Bug/weed sprayer? This thing has been used hundreds of times and is indestructible. Con...bulky. Just bought a Nemo collapsable sprayer. Works great and packs very small. Con...we'll see how long it lasts.

    Tailgate On or Off?

Do you enjoy doing the limbo several times a day and especially at night? Set up bar and try it over and over and see what you think. I'd remove it and also get rid of about 60 pounds. And yes, my friends would love to slam it shut and watch me try to climb out of the escape hatch. If you...

    Here I go again....

I have some experience with FWC campers. Purchased a new Grandby in 1983 and used it for 25 years mounted full time on my truck. No leaks and especially no mold. Only problem I had, other than normal maintenance, was a replacement of the rear door. That camper covered many of the 4wd roads here...
