12 V charge required for Camper running/directional/brake lights?

Thanks. I thought it might have something to do with the LED lights, but the wiring is not accessible, so I can't be sure.

12 V charge required for Camper running/directional/brake lights?

I'm not sure I ever tested the 7 way with the charge line fuse out. That will be my next step. pull fuse, unplug camper, and see if rear 7 way functions.

12 V charge required for Camper running/directional/brake lights?

Interesting and thanks. I figured it was something inside the camper, as the 7 way female connector on the bumper and in the truck bed tested out fine. There is a converter in the unit, but I am still surprised that the trailer light wiring inside the camper has anything to do with any kind of...

12 V charge required for Camper running/directional/brake lights?

I have a 2010 Panther camper on a 2006 Duramax. I was surprised to find the exterior camper running/directional/brake lights do not function when I pull the fuse on the (custom installed high guage from alternator) 12V charge line that feeds my 7 way charge pin on the bumper and my 7 way in the...

Truck Utility SpaceKap to Camper Conversion

I am insulating mine now. I went with 3/4" K-flex on the ceiling, and block foam framed in on the walls. The walls will be covered with 1/4" T&G cedar, ceiling painted off white. I am debating how to handle the barn doors? possibly cover with cedar, with insulated removable panel over windows...

Camper Topper for '99-06 GMC/Chevy short box **Sold**

This is cool little mini camper setup. It includes a high top white canopy, a rack, and a large packasport box. This is bomber fiberglass. Inside it are a bunk and privacy curtains. I engineer'd up a propex heating unit with two propane tanks that lived in the packsport and vented heat into the...

    Fiberglass truck camper build

As I already have a cabover camper, I have been looking for something more like a minimalist weekender that would keep me warm, dry, store skis, and sleep one comfortably, two ok. Went with the non-cabover version of the SpaceKap. Ran two twin bends NS, with the passenger side hinged to be a...

Zamp panel feeding Goal Zero 400 Lithium

Charge port is tied to built in controller on these units rather than battery. Goal Zero gave me assurances that my Zamp panel with its 23.8v max open voltage and roughly 22 volt measured voltage under load will work just fine direct to the charge port. I will post something if I find any...

Zamp panel feeding Goal Zero 400 Lithium

This is for a tiny little setup; If I add controller I am afraid it will "fight" with the built in one.

Zamp panel feeding Goal Zero 400 Lithium

Well I ran the battery down to 50%, attached the panel in the dark, and watched the voltage during a charge cycle with medium solar insolation. During most of the charge cycle, while under load, the voltage at the input to the Goal Zero from the panel was at battery levels, aka 11-12.4 volts. I...

What you look for in a portable power unit

Don't forget about temperature management for lithium. If its heavy and you need to haul it in and out of your vehicle or warm it up to charge it everytime the temp goes into the 20's, (which is frequently where I live), that is a problem.

Zamp panel feeding Goal Zero 400 Lithium

Well at non optimal insolation, 90% SoC, I saw 21 volts when first connecting panel and then a progressive drop over a minute or two ending at 12.2 volts. during that time there is a bit of a scary "buzz" out of the unit. I test more under different conditions.

Zamp panel feeding Goal Zero 400 Lithium

Yikes. I will measure voltage under load.

Zamp panel feeding Goal Zero 400 Lithium

I too thought these were toyz, till I got one. Its not for my big camper, but for a little spacekap camperette I'm building out during the stay-home. Things I like about. Excellent metering. Shows in's and out's in multiple units. Time to full charge, time to empty. Also appears to have working...

Zamp panel feeding Goal Zero 400 Lithium

I have a 90 W panel from Zamp that has specs saying max Open Circuit Voltage 23.8, voltage at max power 18V. This is now tethered directly to a GZ Lithium 400 via the plug in input; I noticed right under the input an ominious warning sign that says "Danger, never exceed 22V" I had goal zero on...

New DC to DC Charger From Renogy-20 amps or 40 amps-Flooded/AGM/GEL/Lithium

Thanks for the replies. Sorry I just shot off a quick question on behalf of a stranded friend 1,500 miles away. Now after a little research I see these don't draw current and sense level of voltage to switch, rather have a line to ignition. Its possible whoever set this up for my pal didn't run...

New DC to DC Charger From Renogy-20 amps or 40 amps-Flooded/AGM/GEL/Lithium

Does this charger trickle-draw off the alternator side or house side? anyone ever seen a dead starter battery while hooked through one of these to a lithium house battery?

    What does "Light Weight" mean?/

I have had many campers, too many to list. Condensation was a major issue along inside of pop top fabric, in aluminum framed campers along framing lines inside, and on windows and aluminum window frames. current camper has all fiberglass skin & roof, 1 1/2” fir framing, 1 1/2” rigid foam...

    7 Way charge Line Saga

I could see that happening given a 60 amp fuse and a 10 or 12 gauge wire.
