It is very simple. But with a few deflections (through bearing blocks) even the 3:1 purchase makes lifting it too hard for my wife. Might try adding some bungee to help reduce the weight the lifting line sees. I can see eventually installing a linear actuator.
We hit a snag when I got busy with work this summer. Managed to take it up to New Hampshire for a couple days in an incomplete state. Was nice to get a feel for it before finishing. No major (or minor) changes needed!
Tows much better than I expected. Thought it would move around being light...
We are building a trailer at the moment to tow behind our Subaru Outback - so need to keep it as light as possible.
Because we have framed the interior structures with 8020-type extrusions (in the smallest 20mm profile) we ended up having sign material as an option. The edges are tricky to...
Also impressed with how light you are! We have been working soooooooo hard to save pounds on our build. Just like with race boats those extra weight savings come at a premium.
Making some progress on this week home.
The lifting bed system is coming together pretty well. I ordered some UHMW bar stock and built the sliders/guides from that. The lifting itself is done with rope and small blocks I had around. Planning to have the purchase terminate in the back of the...
We were lucky to spend the worst of CV19 in New Zealand working and traveling. When we got home we built an insert for car camping in our 2020 Subaru Outback (and did a 10k mile trip around the USA). Now that we are building a tow behind trailer to travel in a bit more comfort, the insert is for...
We are using this sink from Amazon in the US. It seems pretty nice. Most of the same features. Probably all made in the same facility somewhere.
Sorry to hijack the thread!

With the busy part of the sailing season upon me I have not made much progress on the trailer. Lots of triple measurements and parts accumulation. Will have the rest of the aluminum extrusion, most of the plumbing, and some of the propane system waiting for me when I get home. Writing this from...
I have been following your build. Quite the undertaking but looking great! Also planning on using an LP instant hot water heater and dealing with exhaust via fans and ventilation. Which unit are you using?

Correct. Elevator bed.
All of the retail versions are quite heavy and prohibitively expensive. I have seen some interesting solutions with linear actuators and even modified adjustable height desks. Ours will be simpler and manual. Might involve an air strut or some kind of reverse purchase on...
Been lurking on the site for a while now. So many good ideas and info.
After a 10000 mile road trip around the US with our tent and the sleeping/storage arrangement I build for our 2.5L Subaru Outback (2700lb towing rating), we decided to do a lightweight trailer that was self-contained in...
We went and looked at the TM in April of 2021 and really liked it. Should have ordered that day. Because soon after they stopped taking orders. They said there was a queue (as we had actually given them a complete order form and tried to give a deposit) but would not tell us anything about where...
The whole thing only weighs 102lb empty. If we needed the spare we would just lift it out. Was a compromise for simplicity. And to keep the weight down.
We took it to a CAT Scale on Saturday and have it at 1840lb (stock/empty). Which makes sense of the tongue weight I had taken at 245lb.
A stock Silver Moon is advertised at 1180lb. Ours is 3" wider and 6" taller. We had them add two relatively small interior partitions and provided Tern...
We actually towed it for the first time behind the Outback today. Took it to a CAT Scale for a weight.
Felt good at the normal grandpa speeds I drive at. Will use a lot of gas. But I expected that.
You ever happen to weigh your trailer? Ours is *significantly* heavier than WeeRoll claims.
After getting back from almost a year working abroad, we decided to take our new 2020 Outback on a 10,000 mile trip around the US in early 2021. We were lucky to be in NZ during the worst of CV19.
I built an insert for the back that had two drawers, one for food and one for cooking supplies...
