The "yet to be named" tundra build

Yup, they seem to be holding up well but I have a set of air bags to help offset any sag. It's not a true test. Not sure on the model number

well good news, Jack showed up today. Unexpected home birth. My wife was in labour for exactly 37 minutes and had him on the bathroom floor! Midwife showed up just after the head popped out! exciting times!

hey thanks. The tundra took an unfortunate hit last night. I had it parked out on the street and somebody decided to play pinball off a half dozen vehicles. Police showed up at our door to inform us as we heard nothing and they where trying to chase them down. $700 insurance deductible...

Well, as of last night I blew a bilstien in -34* weather. Blew the top right off. I am really disappointed with the cold weather bilstien quality. This is my third failure on three different trucks. I still get poor mileage. My PS still leaks when really cold. Not going for a new toyota...

To Wheel Space or Not to Wheel Space....

I'd like you to find me documentation on that. The DOT approved part. (modifications may not be covered, check with your insurer) I will guarantee you there isn't any, especially in Canada. Every dually has "bolt on spacers" ICBC might have written it up in their rules but I have never been...

    Any Tundra Build Pics?

I built them. They are weld on and I get lots of interest in them. I am looking at offering them for production this winter. Shipping might kill the idea though as I am in Canada and most guys are in the US and they are long (obliviously)

    Any Tundra Build Pics?

Nothing too fancy for us. We did buy a cap so I need to get a roof rack for the tent. Fridge, air compressor, OME coils with Deaver springs and air bags in the rear. 255/85R16 rubber.

I am still loving it. Nice and stiff but but not crazy on the wash board. I did notice that both of my CV are throwing grease but neither one of them is cracked. I do have the 1" dif drop and I am going to look at using clamps over the boots.

    strange gear obsessions :)

That old saying "A place for everything and everything in its place" is critical in tight spaces. We have gone full circle and have landed some where in the middle. Repackaging everything has always been big on the list. The RTT has really helped but with a new born we are back to a big...

CTapia 05 Tundra 4WD Build Up

So what brand/size did you decide to go with? I love the air compressor. We have one on the Land Cruiser and a viair on the tundra. No gauges or anything though, just a simple pump with pressure switch.

CTapia 05 Tundra 4WD Build Up

looks like a great base to start your mods on. I love the deavers and wouldn't mess with aal. My bilsteins in the rear are holding up nice. Not sure about the OME. If you haul anything or have a heavy load in the back, I can't speak high enough about the air bags. It was a game changer...

    RTT as base camp?

The "yet to be named" tundra build

Not much new to report. We LOVE the truck. It does everything we want to do with it. Hauls the boat, dogs, kid and all our gear. Mileage still sucks IMO. as for the baby, Congrats. Get ready to never sleep again. We have a car seat base in the middle seat position in the back (better for...

Does anyone actual live out of their vehicle?

The longest the wife and I have gone is 27 days in the Cruiser. No issues for us but we had two things we would not be without. Hot water onboard shower and our Engel Fridge. Our fuel costs surpassed cheap rent. I wouldn't want to park and live out of our Land Cruiser as a permanent base...

The "yet to be named" tundra build

Sorry, the guy I bought them from originally told me they where 885 but he found the receipt for them and they are indeed the 886. they had settled about an inch on his taco and was the reason for the upgrade. The speedo calibrator is from Superlift called a Truspeed. Got it off of ebay.

The "yet to be named" tundra build

It's been a while but I finally got some more done to the truck. The speedo calibration is worth every penny. I can hold OD with the larger tires pulling the boat and the expo trailer. my MPG has gone up 1.5 mpg as well so I am happy. I found a great deal on this little compressor. I will...
