    Tyre pressures in sand

I'm in the late stages of commissioning a new SES Road Crash Rescue truck for Moreton Island. The vehicle is based on a 6.5 tonne GVM Isuzu NPS 4WD. It is fitted with ATW Super Singles with Toyo tyres. I expect the operational weight with crew will be around 6 tonnes. The vehicle will be...

Just posting some pics of my FG

Hi STU, Thanks for the link I'll have a look at those, might splash out on driving lights at the same time! Actually I had green or orange fluro in mind for the truck but its a fair point about the reflective hi vis. Cheers Gareth

Just posting some pics of my FG

Hi FG, I think those graphics look great. I'm sure you have considered visibilty issues. My truck is in AUSCAM and i suspect oncoming traffic doesn't always see me from a distance. I keep my lights on when driving out of urban areas. I'm planning on adding a high vis marking to the front of my...

    FG637 Exhaust

Ive just got back from my first big trip, went up to Cairns to view the eclipse. I'm pretty happy with the way the truck went. However a wee bit more power would be welcome on hills and for those moments when there is a B-Double sitting on my tail! The truck is an ex-ambulance with the...

    Tyres for FG637

My truck currently runs a combination of G101 and SP377 which are essentially highway tyres. I am looking to replace them with AT type tyres. Anticipated use is 80% highway around 15% unsealed roads and <5% mud sand etc. I don't want to go for SS at the moment not least for financial reasons...

Fg637 Workshop Manual and Wiring diagram

I wonder if anyone can suggest where i can get the above items from? The Mitsi main dealer in Brisbane tells me that the model is no longer supported and they can't help. I find this hard to believe, maybe they were just having a bad day. I particularly need a wiring diagram as i'm trying to map...

Insuring a Canter Campervan in Australia

Thanks SkiFreak, actually I am a member of CMCA so that's a possibility. Just wondering if anyone knew of alternatives or better deals. I'll certainly look at registering it as a motorhome, will just need to check on what I need to do to satisfy the definition. cheers Gareth

Insuring a Canter Campervan in Australia

Hi all, I am contemplating undertaking a camper conversion on an ex military FG. Just wondering if there are any recommendations for insurers in Australia. Are you insuring the vehicle as a light commercial vehicle or a camper/motorhome? Roughly how much for fully comp? Do you have any remote...

    New Guy

Another ex military Canter. Hi Vince, how is the conversion coming along? I've been eagerly waiting for an update as I'm seriously thinking about following your lead and purchasing an ex ADF Canter, probably one of the workshop trucks with lifting sides. Have you put it on a weighbridge yet...
