    Expedition Overland - 2015 Season

Agreed - great way to end this series/season! Methinks it was a very wise choice not to go "over the heads" of the locals! Never a good idea to pi$$ off your local protection detail.... :) Can't wait for next season. Great job everyone!

Agree - Methinks the supercharger didn't hurt the Tacoma too much either! :smiley_drive:

    Expedition Overland - 2015 Season

Agree w/others - best 2 episodes yet! Whoever is running the drone camera deserves an Emmy or Oscar! INCREDIBLE shots!

    Fj80 vs 4runner

For what it's worth... The "original" Rubis (TJ lineup from 2003-2006) had air actuated lockers. Jeep switched to e-lockers w/the JK models from 2007-present. So, I guess it depends on how old old is.... :victory:

2004 TJ Rubicon - Supercharge, Turbo or Sell/Trade?

Thanks all!!! It appears to be coming down to "size matters"… :wings: Just sold our only vehicle with 4-doors & wifey is not giving up her Infiniti G-35 Coupe, so looks like the Jeep may very well be on the market soon…. Need at least one 4-door vehicle, and as much as I LOVE my...

Very cool episode! Congrats to the ladies for 14th out of 125!!! Quote of the episode from Clay: "those are some pretty cool chicks." You can see the love & pride both guys have for their wives.... Now.... Is it Wednesday yet?

    Expedition Overland - 2015 Season

X2. This season is completely different, but that (to me) is certainly NOT a bad thing.... Just like any adventure I choose to go on would get pretty boring if it were the same each time. There were certainly some interesting locals last season, but NO BODY who came close to the creep on the...

    Expedition Overland - 2015 Season

How about next season being one hour episode each week w/two hour premier & finale?! Easy for me to say since I'm sitting on my butt watching & not working the production..... :smiley_drive:

2004 TJ Rubicon - Supercharge, Turbo or Sell/Trade?

Thanks! I'm running the stock 4.10 gears in the Dana 44s w/the OEM 4sp auto tranny... I'm thinking that 4.88 gearing could put me into a sweet spot w/o having to outlay for a new vehicle! Don't know that I want to go to 5.13's as I'm not planning on going to 35's (too many other changes I'd...

2004 TJ Rubicon - Supercharge, Turbo or Sell/Trade?

Thanks all for the ideas on regearing and a trailer… I am running the stock 4:10 gears. Wifey and I were kicking around engine upgrades and a small trailer, so perhaps thats a better way to go. Still keep the uniqueness (and the ability to go topless), but have room for the stuff in a small...

2004 TJ Rubicon - Supercharge, Turbo or Sell/Trade?

Well….. I am the proud owner of a 2004 TJ Rubicon (bought new in Sept 2004 w/approx 110,000 miles) - first built by AEV… I've got lots of "goodies" bolted on (approx 4.5" lift, 33" BFG Mud Terrains, ARB bull-bar w/Warn winch, sliders, skid plates, Garvin Wilderness rear bumper, Banks headers...

    Expedition Overland - 2015 Season

Great episode! Funny how the surgery didn't "bother" me nearly as much as the dentistry in the last episode!!! Perhaps it is related to the fact that the dentist I had as abide didn't believe in giving children novicain? To this day (and I'm pushing 50) the sound of a dentist drill sends...

    Expedition Overland - 2015 Season

Kurt, Very much enjoying the season! Came to the late - have been "rationing" myself on last season (need to get SOME work done!) Question, any chance for a "behind-the-scenes" on trip planning & logistics? Fuel stops, which border crossings, planning on how far to go each day, if/when plans...

Lets see cargo area storage mods

ARB Fridge-Freeze Platform Here are some pics (in progress) of the platform I made for my ARB Fridge-Freeze. Made the platform out of 3/4" plywood & some left over 2x4's I had around the garage. Not perfect, but it works for what I need. I also have a Safari Rack that mounts above the fridge...

2004 TJ Wrangler Rubicon - Driver's Side Rear Window (Soft top)

Hi all! I've got a 2004 Wrangler Rubicon (TJ) & the zipper on my driver's side (left) rear window has broken - on the window, not the top itself. I've looked online & can't seem to find a replacement window for just the driver's side. I've found several sites where they will sell all three...

    2005 LJ Rubicon - headlight switch/wiring overheating

Just to weigh in here - similar, but not exactly the same issue. I've got a 2004 TJ Rubicon & when I changed out the headlights from factory to PIAA's, I ended up melting the connectors at the headlight bulbs. Was told - have no idea if it's true, but at least at the time the male connectors...

What would be a decent "starter" set up for a beginner

Cannot agree more! Many of the shops around here also offer casting classes where you can use a number of different rods, lines, etc to see what matches up with your particular style.... Also, a good quality line that is matched to your needs is something I forgot to mention! Was fishing...

What would be a decent "starter" set up for a beginner

Having gone thru the same when I first started Fly-Fishing a number of years ago.... I would say that buying a quality rod and line makes the most bang-for-the-buck. For me, fishing mainly small spring creeks in the Sierra's, my reel is mainly just a line holder for when I'm storing the rod...
