    Montero Build

Yes, I have run many a trail with the truck fully loaded and the suspension works very well. Also, with several thousand miles and quite a few trials the suspension has softened up a bit but still holds up well on the trail. Also, I removed my sway bars and articulation has gotten better. I...

    New member new ride

I need to find somebody to help me with the patching of the holes and then a cheap place to paint where the cladding was, I so want to take the pastic off. Kudos to you for having the guts to do it. I think I am going to start working on this.

I need some input on purchasing a 99 Montero with high milage (250k)

A 99 won't have the SR designation, and it will have the locker if it came with the winter package. It will also have heated seats if thats the case. The timing belt needs to be replaced every 60K, other than that, I agree witht he above posts.

Don't forget Wil and Wendy from Sierra Expeditions. They are great to deal with and can often times price match.

    Its Timing Belt...time!

It is time for my 120K t-belt change. Surprisingly, the dealer was where I got the cheapest quote; $594. If it needs a water pump and tensioner it will be another $250 parts and labor. Still less than $1K. Plus, my dealer currently has a 15% off coupon on t-belt change. That price seems really...

I am not sure how it is attached. I would love to take the cladding off of mine. A few weeks ago the cladding on the left rear door got pulled up so it would hang when the door was opened and closed. It drove me crazy. I fianlly took off the piece that was pulle dup and hanging. I still want to...

    A little Tech help, please

I went through my maintenance records and could not find when the T-stat was last replaced. Looks like I have a call to the dealership to make as this problem will only get worse if it is the T-stat. Thanks for the help guyus, I'll keep you all posted.

    A little Tech help, please

I don't think its running hot, the transmission or the engine. The fluid is fine, I had the transmission serviced not even 1,000 miles ago with new fluid and filter. I checked the fluid after the code came up and no signs of dirt or burning. If anything, I thinkthe code is saying the engine is...

    A little Tech help, please

A little background first. This happened the first time in August coming back from Sedona, cleared the code and it never came back, until this weekend. The same type scenario when the trouble code popped up. The code I'm getting is P0125 "Insufficient coolant temperature for closed loop fuel...
