    JP90's M416 budget off-road camper build....

Ok, but my point is that there would seem to be zero need to bother trying to come up with a way to do it with one person. And tenting it looses the whole cool factor, screw the gas cost! ;)

    JP90's M416 budget off-road camper build....

Just use it without the extra room, still better/easier/cooler than a tent, right?

I finally scored a used Flippac

Subscribed! I had the same thought about it flipping to the rear because it would give you a covered outdoor space and it would seem totally doable to attach canvas sides that went down to the ground all the way around it with a door and windows or just a screen. Do a small aluminum truss on...

    Paris / New York - Transcontinental 2009

Many of the folks reading this wouldn't make it a day in the conditions that these guys are tackling in two Jeeps packed full of crap while dragging two trailers along for the ride at the mercy of who knows how many different governmental negotialtions AND YET they find time to get us updates...

    "Production ready" Jeep camper trailer??

Anyone know anything more about the trailer shown/mentioned about halfway through this: http://www.ireport.com/docs/DOC-427219?ref=email We'd be real interested in it if it turned out to be good quality and I'm just psyched as a Jeep fan that they'd do something like this!!! :wings:

    "Safari Cab" modular hardtop project

I believe the issue with troop seats is that you'd have to remove the stock rollbar. Are you assuming that was done? Without removing the rollbar, the roof height does nothing to make troop seats possible. It's one of the things I have against the idea of the stepped-up roof in the rear, it's...

    "Safari Cab" modular hardtop project

When I get one, it's because it will be easier to put on and take down than dealing with the stock hard top. I would wager that a small minority would be getting it to leave on permanently, just my opinion.

I know you reworked your World Cab top considerably, but I think it's a night and day difference. The LJ's door blows shut on me on it's own all the time and not only that, if you park on any kind of incline where the Jeep slants down to the driver's side, it won't stay open. With adding weight...

Jeff, love the detailed drawings for the barn door. Slick to include the wiper like that! One other thing that came to mind in thinking about what it will be like to have that mounted on the tailgate. You'll probably want to have a latching/strut mechanism to hold the gate fully open. In any...

    "Safari Cab" modular hardtop project

On the removable panels, skipping them was a great call. With all of Jeep's engineering and production resources, even THEY can't get those panels to always seal up right on every Jeep (we have had ours leak a couple times, requiring removal/reinstall to seal properly). I'm more than a little...

Is it just me or doesn't a pop up camper top require bed length, so: 1. an LJ is the only possible option that doesn't require a custom tub, maybe a Scrambler, but even then it's not going to be for tall folks and 2. If it's an LJ only option, wouldn't it require you to remove the rear roll bar...
