CVT Denali on a JKU with Gobi Rack

I just placed my order for a CVT Denali RTT for my family of 4. It's a huge tent and will pretty much consume the entire rack on my JKU. Anyone else run one of these on top of their Jeep? Any feedback or pictures? I have a Gobi Rack and it says it will hold up to 800 pounds, so I think I am...

    Smittybilt Overland XL RTT-New product.

I called around and found out the annex was "discontinued." So I am guessing that smitty is not moving forward with the sale of the annex? I wonder if they will even discontinue the tent. I can't believe they make much money on it anyway at that price point. I am might buy a tepui annex and see...

Yes, we would need a 4 person tent for our family I think. Hard to beat that price for that size.

    Smittybilt Overland XL RTT-New product.

My wife gave the go-ahead to purchase a roof top tent. Thinking I'll go with this one along with the annex. Happy to hear people are liking theirs. We are just looking for a fun way to camp together as a family, and can't afford the travel trailer yet. I already have an ARB Awning and Gobi...

    JKJenn's Expedition Build Thread

I have a small lift, gobi rack and near stock sized tires, and I re-geared to 4.88's because the jeep couldn't keep its speed on flat land without downshifting. Completely happy with my choice, and would not go any higher. I actually think a nice set of 33's would make it even better. Oh, my...

Robert from CVT tents emailed me back, and he said he is planning to do a group buy in March. Sounds like a good way to go. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

CVT group buy? any way we can do another one?

I am open to suggestions, and am happy to contact cvt to get this going, if more people would rather go with them. I was thinking we would all buy sometime in early March (tax time for most) but again, I'm open to suggestions. I cannot please everyone though!!!

CVT group buy? any way we can do another one?

Tepui So this thread got me motivated. I personally would like to buy a Tepui tent. Maybe it's all marketing, but their tents look real nice too, with some different options. I went ahead and contacted Evan at www.TepuiTents.com, and he is ready to do a group buy. here is the breakdown if...

    tacoma long or short??

In my experience shorter vehicles are easier to drive around off road, they have better angles for varied terrain, and easier to turn around in tight areas without trashing either the woods or your vehicle. I like the shorter beds anyway, rare to see around here in NJ.

    Kayak carrier options for JK?

Yes, I don't have that problem at home. But I don't fit in the Philadelphia Airpot Parking Garage. Going to get worse when I get bigger tires.

    Smittybuilt Element Ramps

Nobody on this forum appreciates your disrespect. If you actually have some points to argue, by all means post them up here, it's free to do so. But trying to win an ethical debate by attempting to pass insults and belittle others it getting you nowhere. The Maxtrax product isn't made in the...

    Kayak carrier options for JK?

It bolts to the frame underneath. There is absolutely no drilling. It does come off pretty easily, and some people take it off for winter. Being that I have a 4 door, I'm not going to bother taking it off, but on a a 2 door, I think it would be a breeze. They have quick disconnects for taking...

Looks nice on your 2 door! I was looking at all the same stuff, but ended up with a Gobi rack.

    Smittybuilt Element Ramps

That's my thinking, competition is good. If you build your company up one a single product that is highly reproducible, you'd better have a strategy to stay in business. The industry I work in is highly competitive, and "knock off," products are the norm for sure. It takes more than an...
