x3 on the Grand Vitara. I had one for a couple years and it drove in the snow almost perfectly. Also, the TC helped pull it through mud that was up to the chassis. There is a lift kit out there for it as well. I put on 40,000 trouble free miles.

No, actually I don't. But it would be nice to have the option of a high mpg small truck. A quick check at edmunds the best I can find for a 4wd is 20mpg for the 4cylinder GMC Canyon, and I am sure it makes much less power than a diesel would. Also, the other day while bored I "built your own"...

Blackstone River near Uxbridge, MA. This is a canal that abuts the Blackstone River, and it was completely covered in algae. Can't remember the name of the river, but it is off of Omega Pond and can actually be found within East Providence, RI city limits.
