    Minimum Equipment List JKU

Not really the same as an MEL for aircraft, but I get what you mean.

    Kayak inflatable or hard shell

I have had many different canoes and kayaks. I currently have an 18 foot carbon expedition kayak (Easy Rider Eskimo) and 2 advanced elements inflatables. Since buying the inflatables, my hard kayak has not gotten wet once. My Advanced elements advanced frame convertible with both deck and drop...

When is it time to move on? XK with 180K and JKUR with 145K.

Update: I drove the Gladiator. I am keeping my 146K JKUR. Not worth the money to upgrade. I can spend half of the difference I would have to spend to buy the JT and do a 5.7 and Getrag manual in my existing Jeep. After talking about it with my wife, we think the better option for us is to keep...

Expo-Capable Airplane Hauler | Seeking Design Advice

I am a pilot, A&P, IA, aircraft owner, and hangar owner. folding the wings can be a huge PITA, if you fold the wings, trailer it somewhere, and think you can just pop it out and fly, add a couple hours to that. I have seen a few folding wing aircraft not be rigged right when folded, trailered...

When is it time to move on? XK with 180K and JKUR with 145K.

I used to feel that way. I have done the same thing with aircraft mostly, but they still do not compare to new metal. As far as building new trucks out of old ones. I was intending to completely repower a Comanche I have. It's straight and rust free, and would be awesome with a new drive train...

When is it time to move on? XK with 180K and JKUR with 145K.

I thought my 2008 Rubicon was better and more capable than the heavily modified Rover it replaced. I don't care if it can't do what my JK can do now, like I said, I built it, and now don't really use it for that much. Road manners and some amount of fuel range along with reliability is what I am...

When is it time to move on? XK with 180K and JKUR with 145K.

I agree on it being a game changer. When I sold my Rover and bought the JKUR we put 6000 miles on it in about 2 months. I am looking forward to that again. The hard thing is leaving it stock, or deciding how much to add or change. Almost everywhere I go in my JKUR on 35's with all the awesome...

When is it time to move on? XK with 180K and JKUR with 145K.

Thanks for listening. I may not post much, but I really love this forum and have stuck with it for at 15 years now. I think I just needed to say it out loud. I have a gaggle of Jeeps and the Mini that would make most people pretty happy to own. I walk out the front door and see them all staring...

When is it time to move on? XK with 180K and JKUR with 145K.

Hello all, My wife has an awesome Commander, Hemi, Quadra drive 2, OME lift, control arms, 255/75R17 tires on nice rims. It is a ************** Commander. At 180K it is still fairly reliable. But, it has 180K and it's 13 years old. Little stuff pops up all the time now, like the power windows failing...

100K on OME struts and springs. Replace them?

I think I will do the struts and see if it improves. My wife and I are at a decision point with the commander. It has 175K on it. It runs great, uses maybe 1/4 of a liter between the 6K oil changes with Mobile 1. The interior is still nice enough to take clients in (real estate) and it gets my...

100K on OME struts and springs. Replace them?

Hello, I put OME heavy duty springs (2" or so lift") on my wife XK a few years ago. We have driven it about 100K since then. The XK has been great and never let us down. We love the 5.7 Hemi and take it on more long trips than our JKUR. It has done mostly rural highway and graded dirt/gravel...

Stoked about the new Gofast camper

If the Ursa minor pop tops for the JK were built like this, I would get one. Any chance you will build a JK top?

Nice Jeep. Sounds like a lot of work but if it works for you then cool. Seriously though nice JK but you should have crawled up higher on the junker! ;) I was going to drive up further, I think I could have gotten onto the roof without tipping. But, these cars are for extrication training...

Yep, all you do is bolt it in, after cutting off all the frame mounts for the control arms and welding new ones in a different location. But seriously, this suspension kit works as advertised. This Jeep had a RK 2.5 max travel and Bilstien remote reservoir shocks for about 60K miles. That set up...

JKUR with Teraflex Prerunner posing in a parking lot.

Thanks. I assure you it is not a mall crawler. Of the 138K miles I have driven it, much of that has been traveling off the beaten path. We don't even have malls where I live, well, there is sort of one in the big 40K person city of Wenatchee, but that's 45 miles away.

JKUR with Teraflex Prerunner posing in a parking lot.

This is my 2008 JKUR. The Teraflex Prerunner Longarm kit that I installed is the best compromise for a lift that will give you the flex and clearance over obstacles, but also give comfort and control on fast rough roads. It also jumps very well, lands super soft. I am so glad I pulled the RK...

    Commander/GrandCherokee WK honest reviews

I always though the XK was a bit bigger than the WK and WK2. Maybe I am wrong about that. I certainly looks bigger, and seems to have more room inside.
