    AEV Rack disaster (rhino pioneer)

Haha. THey say you can always spot a first gen blazer driver by the wet left knee. The door always leaks there from the rain gutter.

    70 C-20 4x4 Suburban Father/Son project

One other tip I didn't send in my pm. You can use the evap line as the return line for the tank. Just be sure to replace all the soft line sections (there are several along the frame, for expansion I think) with new line that is diesel rated. This saves a lot of pluming work.

Need some quick help. FS bike opportunity.

yeah the super light 29, tall boy, heckler in 27.5, horetheif etc. Doesn't matter, I bought the superfly and have 35 trail miles on it since Wednesday. I love it, love it love it. How did I even ride before this, it's a whole new world. And it's FAST. The reviews were dead on with that one...

Need some quick help. FS bike opportunity.

OK I know I can read for years on this bike vs that bike but I needed opinions on a specific opportunity I have. Local shop has one Trek Superfly fs8 left for nearly 1/3 off as it is a demo and frame size is right for me (6,1) Dilema. I am in the market for an XC bike or a trail bike (rather...

My New ExPo Rig: 83 Suburban Diesel. What should I do first?

Oh yeah the standyne injector pump will miss the lubrication that is removed from the new diesel. Use an additive in your fuel to help. A lot of guys just run a quart of 2 cycle per tank.

My New ExPo Rig: 83 Suburban Diesel. What should I do first?

All the above. I would consider adding an electric inline fuel pump. I did. I only use it for priming with a jumper box. But man it works for that. I am going to wire it to a switch soon. Both a back up and an easy primer. Compared to stock I just run the electric after a filter change or...

Shocks, Bags or Springs? Making it level

I considered air shocks, then a friend said "do you really want the weight of your rig riding on those dinky little shock mounts?" Point taken and no air shocks for me. I do have air bags on my pickup and they are nice but I do have a leak somewhere and that is annoying.

Thoughts on Quick Fists and Shovel Mounting

I have mine vertically mounted on my roll cage. No fear of it letting go but it doesn't hold as snug as I would like. I could crank it down another notch but I would be really reefing on it to do so. I also wish there was more meat in the base as the shovel tip touches the cage and rattles at...

    power film charging

I swore I read in my directions that it does in fact charge even while discharging to a device. For a net loss I am sure but it takes a charge.

    power film charging

My apple stuff will charge directly off the goal zero 13. But it must be full sun to work. They also trickle charge off either my 10 or 13 panel they just say they are not charging but they do slooooowly. For your application get the guide 10 battery pack or something similar. Charges off the...

    Sleeping pads?

If you are in a cold climate avoid the air mattress. Not talking about a thermarest but the regular kind. It's like a heat pump the wrong way transferring heat to the ground or the truck bed in my case. Been there done that. -15f bag on a 30degree night and cold as heck. I though I was so cool...
