    Inkog's M416 Project

Has it really been 2 years??? Damn, time sure flies... Life kind of got hectic there for a while, so my trailer got put on the back burner for some time. My old '00 TJ (RIP @215k) started giving me all kinds of problems and quickly became a money pit. I eventually quit throwing money into...

    Trailer Lids...

Here is a pic of the route I went. There are some more detailed pics in my build thread. I decided to remove the original round tube lip and replace it with 1x2" square tube. I'm almost finished with the modification and it turned out great. I'll be posting updated pictures of it hemmed up once...

So I might have bought this M416

I found it... but got beat to it... But at least I was way off on the price 'only' $47.50! http://store.mullinsjeepparts.com/mm5/merchant.mvc?Screen=CTGY&Store_Code=mullinsj&Category_Code=TP I can say that I was very pleased with these guys. Quick and reasonable shipping when I got my parts.

So I might have bought this M416

My break lines were shot too. Since it's just a parking break, I think you could use the break cables from a bike or motor cycle application. You can get these custom sizes. I still haven't made up my mind on a new axle as I may get a new rig, so I'm still running without a parking break for...

    M416 Build

Nice work so far. Your trailer was in about the same shape as mine when I got it. I'm also still trying to decide what to do about my bent rails. I think I'm pretty much sold on cutting off the round tube and welding up a new rail of 1" square. I would loose a 1/2" of overall tub height, but I...

    Trailer Battery Questions

Well, I guess I'm OK with these batteries... :D After reading up on the whole amp hour thing... 140Ah /20 hours = 7amps for 20 hours, or 3.5amps for 40 hours till the battery reaches 10.5v. That seems like a lot. I was thinking of using 2 in the trailer, but @ almost 100lbs each I think 1...

    Trailer Battery Questions

I was just given 3 of these batteries TC-12150c: http://www.powerbattery.com/pdf/1222-2-0805%20PRC-12150C.pdf Judging from the manufacture's site these are sealed AGM VRLA's rated at 140AH @ 20 hours. I'm far from a battery expert, so I wondered if anyone can tell me if these would work...

    Lightweight Expo Trailer

Just an FYI - A M416 only weighs in at ~ 500lbs dry. A RTT + 4 cans of water/fuel is already close 300lbs without any other gear. Maybe a M416 type trailer isn't as overkill as you think?

    Inkog's M416 Project

I'm about finished with the major lid work. Here are a couple of pics of the inside and outside seams all welded and finished. You can also see where I just applied a metal epoxy as a sealer to the outside lip seam.

    Inkog's M416 Project

Thanks everyone! As far as the specs.. I neglected to get my original drawings back from the fabricator, but I'll see what I can do. All I did was mirror the existing tub profile. Its made from 1" square tube and 18g sheet. I will forwarn everyone that this design will require some sort of...

    Inkog's M416 Project

Well, its been a while, but I'm back at. :victory: The one week wait for the fab work turned into 4. I think the lid turned out great so far. It is really stout and weighs in at an aceptable 75lbs. The ribs in the top help keep it rigid and will keep water from pooling. I still have a little...

    Trailer cover costs

Mine is costing me $250.00. Great price but I've been waiting 4 weeks now.... I'm supposed to get it this week and I'll post some pics. 1" square tube, 7" tall lid of 14g bent up to match the lines of the tub.

    Inkog's M416 Project

Back at it I'm finally starting to get to the point where I can make some progress on the trailer. I got a good deal on a new MIG wealder and picked up a tank of argon. It's been nearly 15 years since I've welded, and that was stick, so I've spent the past few weeks getting down my technique...

    Trailer tire question

I agree, and even more so if you have breaks contollable by the towing vehicle. Having breaks on your trailer is mute if your tires have no traction.

Spring Center Measurement for the M416

What hub face measurement did you go with? FYI, I've read that the stock Jeep wheels don't fit these hubs and spacers are required. I hadn't concidered this before and will have to do some more research before I pick mine up.

Spring Center Measurement for the M416

Thats good to know, as I plan to order mine in about 2 weeks. I take it your going with dexter for the parking break feature also?

Body lift for the M416 questions.

I think that you could go 2" without problem as long as you weld the spacer stock into a "T", just as the stock perches are configured.

    Inkog's M416 Project

comming together Here she is back on her feet, in time to haul gear up to my camp this weekend. She needs new shoes pretty bad, but the axle and wheels will have to come first. Unfortunatly the Jeep needs some suspension work ASAP, so the axle and lid will have to wait a couple of weeks as the...
