    Slow Sami build

you can install the YJ's and still be spring over but the YJ's will give you more than 3". Don't add anything else because you will go right over. Best thing you can do it sit down and make a plan and try to stick to it. Adding YJ's and then later adding Toy's will end up costing more money so...

trailer design questions and material choices.

so I am building a trailer to tow behind my rig (LJ80). Weight is very important because I don't have power to spare. My plan is either something like the m416 with a roof top tent on it or go right to building a very small tear drop trailer style to sleep in the trailer rather than on top in a...

    Smallest four-wheeled expedition vehicle?

Wow this rig is amazing and love that roof tent....is that store bought? I had a very similar idea for me SJ413K. How much does that weight?

Suzuki Owners; Let's see your ExPo Trucks

This is my expedition rig, a few years back I did a couple of overnight runs. It's small and I used to pack it all in the back. This spring the project if to build a trailer and tow it all behind me. Rig is a 1981 LJ80 Now running stock 800cc motor, 456 gears (welded rear), 30" BFG muds...

mods you wouldnt do again ...

Biggest issue I ever ran into was trying to keep the "bigger tires" ball rolling. From having issues with parts, cops and insurance company when I finally decided to take it all off I ended up having a lot more fun and following the "big" rigs almost everywhere they went. No mud for me so tire...

tire mileage - how long did your last set last?

30" BFG muds on a samurai/LJ, not a lot of miles but 8 years old and no cracks. For me the mileage is not the important part but the tire life before going bad.

Am I crazy to overland a Samurai?

I did a lot of back country wheeling/camping with a samurai, SJ413K and now I'm setting up an LJ80 for the same. If you got the right gearing you can haul a small trailer if you keep it light. When I head out I pack very light on clothes, give the GF a tiny bag and tell her "that's it" and I...

    road Shower

If you built two of these it would double the quantity and if you mounted one on each side of the roof rack and had them joined it would balance out the weight, you'd draw from both at the same time.

A whole new concept: An Overglobe Vehicle....

got to love amphibious rigs and it's always been on my mind about building a small one....to be able to drive off a boat ramp into the water would be a lot of fun. That rig is just over the top and it must of been some rocky on some of those trips across the water.

    UK Suzuki Jimny

those little Jimny's are super cool. They stopped importing the samurai's in 92 over here so we don't get new ones. I ran a Samurai on some pretty long trips (for these areas) and I had mounted two tool boxes under the hood for the tools/fluids. If you are only two then the back is a lot more...

    Fluid Changes After Water Crossing?

I love to play in the water and run a good water resistant grease that repels water. I found Redteck works wonders but in the case of fluids I got all the diffs tubed off into the passenger compartment and keep the vents open. After every run that I played a little hard I do a once over on my...

    Rusty/Stuck Bolts

Best I ever found was Solvo Rust from Loctite. I sold a lot of it to restoration places and have found that if you can let it sit overnight it works best.
