Tons of info on the cummins forum about it, if you ask me it makes sense. The new ULSD removed all the lubrication properties from the fuel and it is not good for our
injection pumps from what I read. I use it from time to time and will be using it all the time when I get back from korea.

There was a thread posted somewhere on here that had a link to a test of all the available fuel additives. It was very enlightening and informative. Several of the popular products on the market either did nothing or made the fuel worse.

For fuel the baldwin pf7977 is better that the fleet guard, but either is within design spec for the fuel system (i spent a week researching filters for the stock canister for whatever it is worth). I personally use the baldwin. For oil I run amsoil 5w-40 and their 25k filter, I would use rotella 15w-40 and the fleet guard oil filter if I didn't have to put so many miles on my truck. The airfilter I am not sure I have not researched it enough yet, but the little bit I had looked at seemed to suggest the stock one.

As said there is a fuel additives test www.dieselplace.com/forum/attachment.php?attachmentid=44499

If you want to add a filter between the stock canister and CP3 the CAT 1r-0750 fits a napa 4770 filter head. It may be cheaper to source parts than to get a kit.
