... searching on here reveals that a group 31 battery fits without modification. So, I went ahead and tried it after Ryan's group 31 kit had been discontinued. And as it turns out, the only modifications that needs to be done is 1) to extend the positive side by the use of a copper extension. Luckily for me, Ryan still sells those and that made my installation that much easier. 2) a longer bolt for the clamp. I don't know the exact size I used... I just looked through my toolbox and found one that worked perfectly.
The original J-hook works but ideally, a longer one would be great. I don't have the battery tray and didn't try to cut the OEM tray to see if the battery will sit on top of that. I will have to see what I can come up with for that issue.
Also, I would have to add a spacer for the clamp bolt as the clamp just "floats" as it is right now.
