This is a great fridge... I have the same one. It does require a direct connection to the battery, so it will not plug into a cigarette lighter. But, I wired mine to a round trailer plug set up so I can take the entire thing out of my truck and don't have the wire dangling. It has worked perfectly for 4+ years.

..This unit has a new 10' 12v cord and plugs into any 12v socket...The cord and the remote thermometer were bought new for this last trip as the original cord is MIA..

..I never even had a problem with a loose connection yet and we did lot's of wash board roads...For fun last night, I left it on in one of my trucks and I put it on setting 3 of 5...When I checked on it today is was leveled out at 7*F...
