Excelsior!
The first leg of our adventure was whitewater rafting on the famous Rio Pacuare's "lower" section.

For the moment I am sharing some photos and brief comments.

Our safety net was this guide in a kayak who would help out anyone who might fall out of a raft.
However during our trip no one was accidentally tossed out.

We hiked to some great waterfalls and swam in the refreshing pools at their base.

My friends from Miami told a story about their Costa Rican Grandfather. He was a construction worker
on the railroad in the early 1900s and lost his life while building this bridge. It was part of a narrow
gauge route that connected San Jose to Limon.

Excelsior!
The Costa Rican people are great! Our head guide from Rio Tropicales was Carlos and it was a blast hanging out with him.
