Its great. Can't wait to get dirt all over it! :sombrero:

Still have to wire it tomorrow. Ok if we do that at your place?

I also need to get some more ubolts and more action packers for the front of the trailer. I'm sure I'll be burning the midnight oil (as usual) this week getting it finished for the trip. I think I will pick up another battery this week also for the truck.

Also, I'm thinking a black pin stripe of sorts all the way around the trailer at the height of the top of the fender or at the top of the number plate. Free of charge of course. I just need to get a brush... I think it'd look pretty good. Could also do some sort of artsy custom design too if you were interested...

I was thinking about painting the bottom few inches in a black rubberized material, cuz thats where most of the rock strikes are gonna happen. Not sure it there is time for all that jazz before the trip, though!

I'll pick it up in the morning and you can reimburse me for it. You got it at AZ right? Do you still have the kit left from when you did the bottom of the trailer? Roller and such?

No. THe rest of the stuff in the kit dried with the stuff still on it. No longer functional. Kinda a one time use deal.

Use microsoft paint and sort of indicate how high you want the herculiner to cover. I'll get another kit tomorrow and get it done so that the trailer will be finished, paint wise. Or give as good of a description as you think I might need!

Just skimmed the first parts of this...missed the bed tent part the first time. Excellent idea. Since I could not trade my old trailer , I am getting the itch to start and try to re-hab it. I like the bed ten idea , as it make for a quick and easy set-up and still be able to haul stove, coole and the such. Thanks for that idea.
Now, on your springs...what do they measure eye 2 eye ? Did you use the old hangers or weld on new ?

Thanks for any info ?

The springs are around two feet (I think 27 inches), and were the ones that came with the axle. I had to remove a leaf and invert another to get a good ride out of it. I would not recommend this setup, rather some longer springs from a YJ or CJ (as Martyn suggested to me). When I wear these out, I'll be cutting off these and going with the longer ones and installing bump stops.

The truck bed tent worked well, but we got tired of having to unload EVERYTHING from the trailer just to camp for the night... and a buddy of mine offered me a good deal on a used RTT. Right now we are working on setup / tear down time reduction, so it doesn't really fit into our plans. A cheap and comfortable solution, I would recommend it to anyone who doesn't mind unloading the gear before deploying the tent.

On the bed tent, did you get the full size or mini truck bed ? My Willeys bed measures 80" x 50 " and falls between the 2 sizes. Yours looks to be about the same dimension.
