1983 Suburban 4x4 Question/Advice

It looks like a really clean `Burb´Azex. The 454 will give you almost the same mileage as a 350 when you are towing or pulling a heavy load. The 350 will just have to work harder, and thus use more fuel. Go and have a look at that machine, and if you think it fits your needs, go for it.:ylsmoke:

that suburban is way overprized. I would say it is worth about $1500.
And personally I would not even pay that much for it. I bough an 86 3/4 ton suburban that was in better shape than this one for only $1100, (same color). That was my first suburban and I sold it for twice what I paid for it a few years later and than missed my suburban so I bought my current one. Right now is a buyers market and if you wait and look around you can get a good deal.

My advise: get an 89 to 91 3/4ton with barn doors and if you do not plan on doing a lot of towing I would get the 350 and save some money on gas. Unless you can find a diesel, but those are very rare in the later model years. you should be able to find a nice one for around $2000
