For sale is a 1984 Australian spec HJ47 Troopy. Asking $29,000 on Craigslist. ExPo price $27,000. I'd really like this truck to go to someone who can appreciate it.

309,300 km on the original strong running 2H motor with a rebuilt head and new radiator within the last 20,000 km. Just replaced all 6 glow plugs. Superglow system works perfectly. Original 4 speed manual transmission and transfer case, PTO winch. Has A/C but is non-functionsl. Donaldson external air filter and fording kit. Great looking aluminum Roo bar and fishing pole holders for the authentic down-under look.

All new upholstery in stock color. Ambulance door seals replaced this week. All seat mounting hardware, shift boot trim, jacking equipment and rear heater disassembled, sand blasted, and repainted in the last month. Much interior mounting hardware replaced with stainless steel. Tub has been recently stripped and Herculiner applied. One small rust hole in driver's side floorboard repaired with steel prior to applying Herculiner. Pics available of tub before Herculiner was applied.

Toyota TEQ mudflaps installed in front, have them for the rear but haven't fabbed the brackets yet.

Im selling this because I have too many vehicles and bought this on an impulse. I love the truck but need the room in my driveway, and a happy wife, but don't need to sell so please no lowball offers.

Attaching some pictures, PM me fore more.

Shooter...
Thanks for the nice comment. It is a great truck and I really don't want to get rid of it, but it just doesn't have the wife acceptance factor. I wouldn't think twice about driving it anywhere. Took a 450 mile trip in it at the end of the summer... no problem...

I want this thing sooooo bad, but can't justify spending that much for a second car when I should be saving up for a house.

It's a great truck. I really don't want to sell it either but sometimes things just have to give. I won't say there aren't any nicer, because I know there are, but this truck is one you can pick up and just tinker and fix stuff on your timeline. Nothing in dire need of fixing to have a very nice usable truck that turns heads wherever you go. If you try to keep a low profile, this definitely isn't the truck for you.

Thanks... Auction ends today and have a couple nibbles... not the response I was hoping for...

I was one of those nibbles (knowing that I was low-balling but trying to get things going at least). Unfortunately your asking price is far higher than I could justify spending on this beautiful truck. I've been looking for one passevly for a year, a little more seriously for a couple months but in no hurry to buy. GLWS.

Its relisted now with a lower reserve and buy it now price. If it doesn't go this time my wife is going to have to suck it up. My reserve is what I've got into it.

It's a beautiful rig and good luck. A few points - please don't take them the wrong way.

1. $27K is a top dollar price....and a rig that has non-functioning A/C is not often considered a top dollar rig.

2. Very few of us with specialty vehicles ever get out of our rigs - in $s - what we put into them. Think of it as accounting reverse-goodwill: the difference is the enjoyment we got out of the vehicle.

Again, GLWS.
