No pics of the interior?

*Expertly restored by marque specialists

Is it just me, or does in not look restored at all? The paint looks old and oxidized.

I sent the guy an email asking him what the price was.

This is the response I got from the seller:

Its as you described it - Classic ie you cant just go down the road and buy one or find one in another state.

For that reason it's going to Auction in the august - but in the interest of the wisdom of crowds analogy -

We are open to serious offers that qualify - by that we mean,if your looking for a Maclaren, Ferrari, Lamborghini etc,
then there are hundreds of thousands of options out there to purchase - hardly unique or exclusive!

But that's the price bracket your looking at, so i dont want to waste your time.

If you require any further info, just let us know.

Thanks,

Paul

Apparently this clown thinks this thing is worth as much as a Ferrari or Mclaren? ******? I want some of that ******** he's smoking because that's some good stuff!

So if I am reading this correctly he is selling the vehicle in the United States without disclosing RIGHT HAND DRIVE.

Seriously

Ok, at the risk of being accused of an inappropriate micro aggression towards the seller

"Hey, Wayne, after ya finish yer Tim Horton's, post more pictures of the 4X4 decals, eh?"

This morning I have seen 4 of these vans as I jumped on my scooter and went out to buy soy milk and breakfast sandwiches for the kids. Sure, we are in Taiwan, there are plenty of these around, they are left hand drive so when you get it back home, you don't have to look like Mr. Rural Postman. The internet is a big place and BS smells like BS worldwide

Here's another "rare and special" vehicle

http://www.sum.com.tw/carinfo.php?id=287903

about $ 6,000.00 - you could get any one of these to the US for less than 10K and then deal with the usual issues associated with having an oddball vehicle but these are darn good vans and at this point, most of the life has driven out of most of them.

If you use the Google browser, you can write click and select translate to english, NT is about 30/ U $

As for this particular vehicle, it is a great place to employ one of my favorite Chinese sayings - "Old Wang selling melons"

Lao Wang mai gua — zi mai zi kua "Old Wang selling melons — (lit) selling and praising all by himself; (coll) praising one's own self or wares."

Chinese peasants selling crap or Canadian peasants selling crap, the song is remarkably the same. After all, who would really want one of those Ferrari or Maclaren things when you can opt for one of Old Wang's rotting melons?

Happy Easter!

Can't bring them to the USA yet however, As far as I've been able to research first year CMC Taiwan built the Delica was 1993. Gotta hit that magic 25 year mark.

I'm watching and waiting. Yea. They are all over Taiwan, were very popular vehicles. I get there once or twice per year and have some good local contacts to help out when the time comes.

And there is no point to bring in a 1,970cc OHV Inline 4-Cylinder Engine when the 2.5L 4D56 Mitsubishi diesel is the most popular there.

This is hilarious ^^^. Thanks for contributing.

I responded to the seller, pretending to be interested. Also asked him the mileage. No response whatsoever.

Do you thing he (the seller) is watching this thread? Like maybe he knows I'm mocking him, and possible baiting him (Paul) for another ridiculous response?

Diesel Freak - well, I am glad someone was amused by my little tirade, I admit I cringed a bit after sending it, I usually try to suppress those but I sometimes I am just a too moved to refrain from hitting post.

Delica - that is a beautiful van, thanks for sharing your build thread, I would like your permission to replicate certain aspects -

Here in Taiwan they are badged Mitsubishi Space Gear - here is an example of a 2007 http://www.sum.com.tw/carinfo.php?id=331193 at about U $ 12,000 - again, left hand drive, 2400 cc gas engine - I believe they are only available in manual transmission here which means while my lovely wife can pilot our Sprinter back home on the straightaways in the US, all local driving duty in this vehicle will fall on me.

Taiwan really does have some extraordinary mountains and forests that are worth getting out to see, it's really not all just cities and plastic spatula factories.

As for the Canadian vehicle, someone will want it at some point.
