Sweet build indeed! Haha that trailer is literally a bed on wheels! Looks awesome and lightweight to trailer too.

Reading comprehension fail on my part....

no biggie, we were just trying to help people who read this thread.

i have a twin-stick in my 4runner, it's cool because it allows you to use the low gears without having 4wd engaged... budget-wise, i would probably get a rear locker first.

i was never into arb, too much hassle and unreliability, but this detroit that i have in back is eating tires... even with the little 22re pushing the detroit, it chirps rubber on tight turns.

when tires are $470 apiece, it tends to focus the mind on where the money should really be spent :-0

UPDATES:
-Got the w56 mounted up and filled with synthetic fluids
-Had to repair part of the engine harness(looks like someone didn't disconnect the acv connector before they pulled the engine):(
-Got everything on the engine buttoned up and finally started it up! Idles well!
-Finished the exhaust work, 2.5" to the catalytic converter, then to a Magnaflow chambered muffler.
-A/c is all hooked up and flushed, ready for a new dryer, vacuum, oil, and charge.
-Installed trail gear rear tube bumper(very well made for the $$$)
-Installed new gas tank with new sending unit, fuel lines, fuel pump holder, and fuel pump.
-Installed front brakes and bled the entire system(needs new master cylinder and booster)

Trail gear bumper:

Took it on its first test drive when I heard loud banging noise coming from the rear differential, pulled it apart to find this:

4:88 rear diff trashed...

The biggest part that peeves me the most about the diff is that the guy I bought it from gave me this big rant about how he'd "been screwed by all these sellers in the past" and how he's honest, blah blah blah.

After seeing the rear diff carnage I decided to check the front diff.....well despite the HUGE amount of play on the pass-side axle flange coming out of the diff(which almost bangs part of the frame), the locker and diff work fine.

Luckily I have a good spare 8" 4:10 rear third member and a good 4:10 complete front ifs diff assembly so let the swapping begin!

I still need to swap out the front diff assembly, I'll finish that up this week. But it drives pretty good, no vibrations or weird noises.

First fill up!

I got a little ancy and hitched up the camper to see how it looks, I'm definitely happy!:)

Very nice! Are you going to keep the 4:10 gearing or try to source or order another set of 4.88's? I ask because of your trip to CO. My wife and I go up there every year (I'm getting giddy just thinking about it), but I would think that towing anything with the 22re and loaded up might make for a looong day on the road.

My plan is to rebuild the 4:88 diffs and install them back for the ease of towing, for now the 4:10s are going to make due. The trailer is pretty light so I should be ok going up passes just not very fast at all.

150miles, 3rd oil change, and counting... still running great, has alot more torque/power than previous 22re engines I've had in the past.:ylsmoke:

Took the family out to a park for fathers day.:)

Nice work on everything, especially that engine build. I have an 87 that needs the same treatment that I have been neglecting. It's been sitting for a couple years with a failed timing chain.

Where in Co are you headed for the holiday? We should be around the Silverton/Durango area the 4th-7th.

Thanks for the compliments!

Well unfortunately we wont be traveling to Colorado this summer like I had hoped but we will be going to Oklahoma to visit family around the 4th, compromising at its best. I do appreciate the meet up offer though!
