hey guys!
got to spend a few more hours tinkering here and i thought i'd leave a few pix about what's a goin' on here...
still don't get a whole lot of time to monkey with this thing but any progress is good right?
there was a ton of gasket scraping and the un-fun parts like cleaning stuff which probably takes the majority of the time....

i really wanted to pull the timing case so i could reseal behind it and that meant pulling the cam.

before pulling the cam you have to trap the tappets in the upper most position.

that right there friends is a really long cam!

going back together after the new case seal. yup, i used assembly lube on everything going back together...

thats right! turkey turd tan...

found some valve cover updated noise isolators... i thought they were a replacement for the small o-ring but these go inside the valve cover on the bolt. the o-ring is still required on the outside.

Looks like some good work there. I scored about 10 cans of that for $1 ea this summer.

Wow:Wow1:thats a fine looking diesel. Almost looks military in that colour that you painted the motor. I cant wait to see it going into your rig. Cheers, Chilli...:)

Amazing work on that engine! The color also looks great, I personally like it a lot more than the red everyone seems to use when repainting a Cummins.

Thanks fellas! It turned out better than I thought it would. I definitely made sweet sweet love to this thing. Took my time trying to get everything correct when re assembling this motor.
I've been taking apart rigs so long to start this build. Feels good to finally put something together.

Nice build! A cummins suburban always seemed like a perfect expo vehicle to me. Drivers side drop front axle also makes perfect sense...things get tight on the passenger side really quick.

Sorry, it was Rob Bonnett Fab. Here is his mount;

Agreed, but needs some black - maybe the valve covers.

Or chrome. Everything chrome. Chrome gets you home.
