The fuel economy took a big hit while towing, about 1 MPG. Instead of 11-12 MPG we averaged 10-11 . We did go down the Oregon Coast, through the Redwoods and the CA Wine Country, over to Las Vegas and then back up to the NW via the Idaho panhandle. It was often hilly and or windy and it was always February. Winter driving in the big truck always meant an automatic .5 MPG loss from the dense air, blended fuel, etc.
