Overland expedition truck

This 1998 Stewart and Stevenson M 1079 was the base for what was to become an amazing overland expedition vehicle. Starting with a military truck with less than 6000 Miles and factory built M 1079 box I repurposed this vehicle into an expedition truck capable of living completely off the grid for weeks at a time with a family of four. Everything on this truck has been gone through, including the engine, drivetrain tires and operating systems. We have enjoyed it for the last couple of years since I built it but it’s time to build another one. This truck boasts beautiful interior using real hardwood Dura supreme cabinetry, isotherm Marine grade refrigerator, magnum Magna sign power inverter, Dakota lithium ion batteries, and Victron electronics. Also a full shower with thetford cassette toilet and Arctic tern doors and windows. The stats of the truck include 1000 W of solar on the roof combined with 600 amp hours of Dakota lithium ion. Using a 70 amp solar, MPPT charger and combining that with a DC to DC charger of 30 A run by the truck batteries . Everything on this vehicle has redundancy in place including a hot water heater that works off of engine coolant so it produces hot water while driving down the road with electric that allows you to heat the water when parked for longer durations. It has a hydronic heater which can also be used to produce hot water and to preheat the engine for cold start ups in the woods. A diesel air heater keeps the cabin warm on cold nights, but can also be supplemented by the Mr. Cool mini split AC and heat pump unit. The fridge runs off of 12 V and has a 1000 W microwave, this truck is fully run on electrical power. With good sunlight no generator unit is needed for normal use. However, it comes equipped with a 3000 W generator to supplement the electrical system if needed. With nearly 75 gallons of fresh water and 30 gallons of gray capacity a pressurized Pepsi keg system for drinking water a separate filtration system supply’s a drinking water faucet with a capacity of 10 gallons operated by air pressure. The bathroom within this vehicle includes a fully tiled shower surround with trench, drain system and cubby for towels and toiletries.
The 40 ft.² side entry porch allows you to stay out of mud on a rainy day or set up camp chairs to watch the sun go down with your favorite beverage. This also includes a full stair case that deploys instead of a small ladder that most trucks have. The interior of the cab has been updated with vinyl jeep seats that allow for four passengers, and also includes a pass-through to crawl from the cab into the habitat. Equipped with a Central tire inflation system, and a crane hoist to lower the spare tire this truck is truly unstoppable and ready for anything you throw at it.
