Just got back from a 10 day trip to Utah, hit Moab, arches, canyonlands, Bryce and Zion. Had to nix the Grand Canyon due to snow. Here's a few pics.

Great looking truck! I have been looking into redoing my platform build. Been noticing a ton of people doing the cabinets on the side and hinged middle. Good stuff so far.. Man those views are awesome. Bryce Canyon and that area is beautiful isn't it!

Thanks, the set up has worked well I'm happy with it. It is handy with the removable middle section and bins on the side.

The views are unreal, crazy how pictures don't even come close to showing the real beauty.

Hard to beat Canyonlands for sure. Nice rig, I really like the Schafer canyon trail, took my 98 up it second day I bought it, and went up it with my 01 Dodge, idled all the way up in 2nd. Next year maybe white rim. Like the platform, might go that route myself. Keep it rolling.
Cheers

what trail is that with the chain bolted to the wall?

hiked the black canyon of Gunnison couple years ago . down the route with the chain.

the trail you pictured looks way more scary!

Probably Angels Landing in Zion... I'm bummed we didn't get to do it because of the weather.

Great pictures!

Quick question on the storage: Do you have your storage compartments secured to the truck, and if so how ? Or are the just held into place by the center sleeping rack? And do you find that the center plywood bounces around, or do you keep it resting on the floor unless it is loaded?

Great build, I very much want to copy parts of it. Thanks!

yes the storage compartments are secured on the sides, they dont move at all when the center platform piece is removed. they are attached with a metal "L" bracket inside the front and back compartment drilled on one side to the wood, and the other thru the bedliner and into the bed with longer metal tek type screws.

The plywood does not move what so ever, even when driving very bumpy roads. I always keep it in the fully flatened position on the bed rails. Kept it a snug fit so I would not have that issue.

Glad you like it, feel free to use the concepts for yourself! I pulled a lot of ideas for what would work best for my needs off here as well.

Ill try to get some updates posted here in the next short while, been too busy skiing this winter:)

Hi, wondering how the platform has held up so far. Still using it? Have you found that the center piece bows at all when sleepingwith no support underneath? I'd like to build mine in the same way. Is that 3/4" ply?

Thanks for sharing.

Holding up great, there is no sag in the center. Been using it over a year now. And yes 3/4" ply, cost me about $100 for all the wood and hardware.
