The 300 Tdi can be purchased (IF you can find a good one) for around $4500-$6000 depending on mileage/condition. INSTALL runs in excess of $5000.00 or better. Finding one that has been installed and driving trouble free for the last two years (as in having someone else suss out all the problems ...) PRICELESS.

In fact, I personally believe you owe it to us to do just that since you are in doubt of it's merit, and corresponding price tag. There would be so much less noise from the nondoers if they were responsible enough to simply do (ah- the problem, 'do') a little research before being critical, much less aquire (nice term for 'do') a little hands on experience...
