20" LED Light Bar, Rigid Vs. Baja Designs.

I have 2 BD squadrons and (1) 10" BD bar on my Duramax 3500. They blow Rigid out of the water. They are also a white light and not purple.

Another area where BD and Vision X win is indeed light color temp. They have warmer LEDs in them. They make the light white, not piercing blue which decreases the light output of your lights. I forgot to mention this.

Steve (KojackJKU), in your private message to us you mentioned how you wanted to see how our lights perform yet you talk like you already know?...

We truly appreciate everyones feedback both positive and negative though.

I'm considering adding a 20" LED light bar to my Ram 2500. Rigid offers a custom bracket that will mount between my tow hooks that will accept a 20" bar. Baja Designs has a 20" bar and it appears they're wiring harness has the ability to run the LED either off a switch or automatically when the high beams are turned on. I like the idea of the bar turning on with the high beams.

Any thoughts between Rigid and Baja Designs?

Thank you for thinking about us and keeping us an option. We always encourage our potential customers to reach out to those who are running Rigids and get real feedback — help not hype. If there are any questions we can answer for you we are always here. We know you have many choices when selecting the right lighting products for your needs and appreciate you including us in the thought process.

Cheers!

Hey rigid, I have seen many rigid light bars on the dealers jeep here. He however obviously does not have the sr spot light. I am guessing he has the wide beams and passing them off as "spot" beams I guess unknowningly. I can only go by what he was saying thats mounted on his rig. He has no sr lights on there. that is the one a few people on here say is awesome for long distance. I guess you can blame my local dealer for lack of information and just slapping on what he thinks is a true spot light. Hell he's a somewhat shady character, so maybe he is passing Chinese lights as rigids. I can only go by what he says he has on his rig. Which are alot of lights. Maybe I should look more closely. I know duallys don't work for my application, just not enough power, but I have been told by a few people the sr spot tosses light a long way down the road. That's why I am so interested in trying one. Like I said, I am honest, some people don't like that but that is who I am. If the sr works as they say it does I will run one. Or 4 since is low profile and easy to tuck away on different rigs.

I spoke with a VisionX rep a couple years ago... Unless things have changed since then, they use 6000°K LEDs in their lights. BD is 5000°K. Ideal appears to be much lower, around 3500-4000K, given the spectral limitations of current LED technology (the large spike in output at ~450nm). So although BD comes closest, all three of them miss the mark.

High-°K LED lights give me eye fatigue.

I have a BD 30" stuffed inside my ARB bumper. At night its insane the amount of light it puts out. During the day you better be waring a welding helmet to look at it dead on.

Hey, Can you confirm that is a BD S8 30" in there? I've been wondering about whether I could squeeze something in my ARB bumper (4runner). How did you deal with the mounting? And where did you move your license plate? Can you share more pictures of that?

Thanks!

Watching you from a ridge. In Alaska. I'm cold.
I'm running BD for the light bars, but Rigid for the floods. Both work well.
