Nice trip report. Nice to see coverage of Expo without the gear envy and such! Enjoy your travels.

I am the first to admit, I'm NOT a gear whore. I am perfectly fine using stuff I've found at surplus stores, yard sales, ect. To me, fancy gear just takes away from gas money to actually go out and enjoy wheeling and camping. The RTT we just got last week, and I'm feeling super spoiled with it. lol.

Great report as well as photos! I agree as well..use what you've got. I love gear freaks, I watch CL Daily for those ready to upgrade to the next best thing. Most of the time items are barely or even unused. haha

Funny, I just had a conversation with a guy on a kayak fishing forum about Convict lake, he's headed there for a week to fish the lakes in that area. Lucky bastard! Definitely on my to do list.

Funny, I remembered Convict lake as being in the middle of no where, the last time I was there I was a little kid fishing with my dad, and it seemed SO remote. It's like a mile off 395 up a paved road. lol Funny how your childhood memories do that to you.
