2006 Offroad trailer " wife reduced price"

Wife reduced price !!!!

This can be seen complete on my thread under expedition trailers,

On going trailer project

I dug out the fab picks as I was intending to re-make the trailer for my growing family....

when I look at the chassis etc.......the changes and improvements I want too make I'd be throwing more away than re-using , and the wife is giving me crap about the mounting collection of spares and saved odd bits

So who would like to purchase 3/4 my trailer...?

ie the kitchen box, front box and roof tent in the pictures is not included,

but I will include another original condition main box.......

that is identical, just in original condition.

Zero manufacturing full high tensile aluminum container with 10 lid lock downs and pressure valve with full lid seal, top opening.

This is pelican case type sealing system with low weight and superior structure.
34wideX44longX24high"

EX USAF for aircraft cameras

The main frame with ball hitch wiring waterproof LED lights, chains, and extendable leg.

2 rear D tow rings and rear 2" hitch for bike rack etc
axle 2000#

with 5x 4.5 Jeep TJ spacing hubs , jeep aluminum wheels and almost new 30" BFG all terrains.

Wheel track is the same as a jeep/landrover....but the wheels stick out from the arches....I can shorten the axle if required

Clearance height to frame is 23" clearance to hitch is 23".

So a TJ or Disco with 4" lift is just right

Side open carriers, for both sides and twin adjustable height bars for a roof tent or whatever you want canoes etc etc.

main box and frame need paint but has zero rust as its only 1.5 years old since it was built.

Box/side racks/fenders and main racks are all removable, trailer bare
could take 2 dirt bikes for example, or a small ATV, jon boat

front space between box and frame can hold a large cooler and two jerry can's.

So the bad

the box has two broken catch's...Ok but you have another 8....
if you fitted a hinge one side and removed the good ones you'd be complete.

On my original one I just used a piano hinge

The frame is zebra and has a few stone chips....the box is USAF grey.......

Any one interested ?

I was thinking of $ 1,000 as is......edit the wife say's I was drunk, and I can't start playing with a new one till this ones gone.......REDUCED PRICE $ 850

Add paint load up and go exploring !!!!!!

no changing wheels and hubs or sand blasting required

OK side racks and adjustable height rack bars fitted back on, all fittings are zink coated with nylocks, rack height adjusts using pins and holes.

where are you located? nice trailer. I think I may be in the market for one, depending on your location.

I'm in Tucson, AZ for now.

I might be interested if the price reduces further. Not saying it's not worth what you're asking, i simply don't have that much spare cash right now. It's not registered yet i take it? What was the trailer originally? How much does insurance run for it? Is it leaf sprung only? Shocks? How does it handle high speed washboard roads?

thanks!

Not registered in Cali,

plate says 8Ft x 5 or 4 Ft trailer ( not quite too sure), so sizes are aproximately the same.

Insurance no idea, as its not insured....in TX you only needed registration
and in CO neither..

leaf sprung only, no shocks

washboard roads......horrible empty, as its all so light it just bounces

OK loaded with low pressure in the tyres, you can't tell its there from a disco.

My insurance only charged me 15 dollors extra to add the trailer and it was much bigger then this trailer. I don't think it is required in california but I let my insurance know just in case. 15 dollors a year is cheap in my book.

If i had the money right now i would have already picked it up.

Not like that big of a deal.. but could you post pics of how those government boxes open up?

Is there room to weld on some shock tabs? No dampening would kill me.. but it would be loaded up at all times anyways.

Sorry for thinking outloud.

Open box....

release 10 off over center catches and remove, the lid is about 1.5" thick
and once the catches have been released, it simply lifts off.

On the box I'm keeping, I simply added 3 hinges on one side, the latches on that side becomming redundant

To make the rear drop down was a little more work, cutting screwing and gluing.

Nothing the average chap with a cordless drill a hacksaw and a little imagination can't handle

Shock tabs would be no problem, you have the 2" frame members and 2" angle cross bars and the ubolt mountings for the lower end
