I love the Power Wagons! I'm seriously jealous! One day, one day!

I do like the older PW's from a couple years back rather than the new one. New one is TOO LONG

Love the graphics on that old PW - the vertical PW logo on the side of the bed and 2 tone is cool. they should do a version of that instead of the cheesy graphic job on the new PW hood.

Mike Levine of Pickuptrucks.com drove the 2010 Power Wagon at a Dodge event in Texas. Here is his report:
http://news.pickuptrucks.com/2009/10/part-4-first-drive-review-2010-dodge-ram-power-wagon.html

The 2010 Power Wagon is available only as a Crew Cab model with 5.7L Hemi V8 (383 hp, 400 ft-lbs)
and 5 speed transmission.

Off-road equipment includes
solid front and rear axles
locking front and rear differentials
Bilstein shocks
2.5 inch suspension lift, compared to other Dodge 4x4 pickups
LT285/70 R17D BF Goodrich All-Terrain tires, 33 inches tall
electric sway bar disconnect
12,000-pound Warn Winch integrated in front bumper

Other pages in the report talk about other trucks in Dodge's 2010 HD pickup line, including the Cummins diesel engine option.

They changed the front bumper angles and added a valance - I've got a much better approach angle than the '10 does. Add that to 10" more wheel base, and while it's still a very capable truck, isn't even in the same class as the '05 to 09 PW.

I too am glad they kept this great truck in production. I just got back from several days in the Maze District, Canyonlands, NP, here are a few pics. Of course my 2006 PW did great as usual.

Edmunds Inside Line has an article about the Power Wagon
from the same Texas get-together that Mike Levine attended.
The article is accompanied by lots of photos, provided by
Chrysler photographers.

Here's one photo of the 2010 Power Wagon:

After seeing the photos of the introduction, I think someone should
send Chrysler's public relations department a copy of the "Tread
Lightly" guidelines.

With each federal diesel emission change the prices goes up and dependability and fuel economy go down. First 2007, now 2010…wait until 2016 and it will get even worse. For those of us that like having a diesel just for the sake of having a diesel, the only diesels worth having is a pre-2007 engine.

That may not be totally correct in the future. I hope. The US mfgs were originally going to just increase EGR rates further in 2010, but gradually all of them have caved in except for Navistar to using urea/SCR. Following the lead of Detroit Diesel which is owned by Mercedes.
In Europe, the experience so far (Euro IV and V) with urea/SCR and DPFs is that economy and reliability are excellent in comparison with the US experience with EPA 07, because of the choice of urea/SCR rather than EGR for NOx control. With the former the engine can be built and tuned for maximum power, efficiency and reliability. With heavy EGR the engines are increasingly unreliable (Powerstroke, 6.7 Cummins), inefficient (Powerstroke and all the rest to a lesser degree) and power ratings on some have dropped.
Detroit Diesel claims in their published propaganda: "In 2010 power and efficiency will be back". This is due to switching from heavy EGR to light EGR/urea/SCR.
My engine had EGR, once upon a time...

They should offer the PW in a crewcab with a shorter bed like the new 1500crew cabs for those who aren't necessarily concerned about the full length bed to cut down on the length. I have owned a crew cab extra short bed in the past and prefer the longer bed in my 08 dodge quad cab but with the help of a bed extender and strategic packing I was still able to haul a good amount of gear. I think a PW crew cab would look good with the shorter bed.

Pickuptrucks.com posted a Youtube video of the 2010 Power Wagon a the Johnson Valley OHV park. There's not much wheeling, but the 1 minute, 45 second video is worth checking out if you're interested in the truck.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Waj3J3-Ss8U

Mike Levine claims the payload of the truck in the test is 1940 lbs., and the tow rating is 10,300 lbs.

Looked at a '10 2500 CTD 4x4 crew cab on Friday - nice truck, but too long for me. The interior was incredibly spacious, and well appointed. The dash is different than the previous G3 Ram, I personally like the gage layout on my '09 better, but it's still easy to read. Visability seemed to be on par with the 3 Gen as well.

Can't wait to get to drive a '10 PW! It will be a fun side by side compero!
