Autoblog has posted a review of the 2011 XTerra Pro-4X.

Autoblog says the XTerra is not quite as good as the Wrangler Unlimited in off-road excursions, but it's better on pavement, more maneuverable and costs less than the Jeep.

The review points out that the XTerra is basically unchanged since the 2005 model year, so check the used car listings if you're thinking about buying an XTerra.

The 05 was the start of the Gen2 range, but I believe that in 07 they did a slight upgrade to the casting on the front diff or maybe changed some of the parts around so it's a bit stronger. The alternator also goes from the 100a to the 130a (with 06-07 having the possibility of either, everything after having the 130a). 09 lets you get the Mickey Ear lights on top and most of the aftermarket bumpers now require trimming of your grill to fit.
