2012 JK Unlimited Rubicon in Orange Crush

Speaking of the front control arm relocation brackets, I can't find any mention of them on the AEV website anywhere and I looked online at one of the supplier's websites and it said "discontinued". Are they still available?

Todd Z.

There was a change in the 2012's which required redesigning the brackets. The 2012 brackets fit all previous years. What you saw was the disconitued brackets that didn't fit the 2012's. You were probably on Quadratec. The new AEV brackets are there, but harder to find than the disconitnued brackets, wierdly...

But for a 2.5" suspension, you will need to wait since the current AEV brackets only work for about 3"+ suspensions. But since AEV is coming out imminently with a 2.5" suspension, they are going to revise their brackets to work with a 2.5" suspension.

You can read this stuff on AEV's forum, btw.

I believe that is you go through an AEV perticipating Jeep dealership they will honor AEV's 36mo warranty.

Thanks for the offer Rex, but we'll drive it for the next few weeks. I just have to monitor the fluid levels. Both the tranny and engine are weeping very slightly, one or two drips overnight, but when it runs the volume increases some. So much for my cheap luxury car - bought it for $5,500, and have done nothing but fix it since. New tires (first thing it needed, bought Michelin Destinys since I planned to drive if for a few years), new struts (rear air suspension failed, but again, since we thought we'd be using it for a few years, it was only $550.00 for new ones), and had to have the dealer repair the AC blend door (no AC???, not an option last summer, and another $600.00), and then this popped up. I couldn't sell it outright with a good conscience. I've never taken a beating like this on a vehicle before, but it's my fault for not doing research on the maintinace costs. Oh well..

Congratulations Mark. I never have ordered a new vehicle from the factory, I bet you are itching to see it in your driveway.

Got an estimated shipping date of the 18th! May have it home by the end of the month if that's the case.

I noticed you updated this thread and was hoping it was somehow here already.

Looking forward to the jeep arriving on your behalf.

Well, it looks like the new AEV 2.5" lift has been released.

That's all I have to say about that!

Stop mark, please. I can't take the torture any more...

I look forward to seeing your new rig for sure. You want to sell me the PW?

...You want to sell me the PW?

Unless we got a Hemi powered JK, the PW is here to stay. Our Starcraft 10RT trailer is 4500 lbs loaded, and the JK max towing capacity is 3500 lbs - a wee bit short. The PW doesn't even know it's back there...

...the gas gage does tho.

Ha! Mark's going to have a two "too cool for school" vehicle household now! :)

Todd Z.

Oddly enough, very, very few people have a clue about what a PW is. Those that ask get the answer: "it's a Jeep Rubicon on steroids", and that usually draws a blank stare as well.

This is killing us...

The Orange Crush JKUR is sitting 100 miles away on a railcar in Phx as of yesterday afternoon.

We're waiting...

Waiting for it to be unloaded.

Waiting for it to be loaded on a car carrier.

Waiting for it to be brought up here.

Waiting...

The new G-FX OR9 Black Alloys and 255/80-17's are at Discount Tire, the Poison Spyder Evap skid, Hot Head liners, and an AEV 2.5" XT w/ brackets and ProCal are all in place, waiting...

All the paper work is done. The '01 Caddilac has been traded in, the '05 Taco sold, so all we have to do is...

...Wait.

Oh the waiting is the worse part. Mine took 3 months to arrive. The last week was horrible. Was a days drive away (1200 miles - so a long *** day's drive), and it still took a week to get here. Best of luck - it's worth the wait!

Can't wait to see it...I've been thinking about selling my yellow 09 2dr for the Orange Crush 4dr...the 2 door just isn't ideal for long distance travel with the wife and kids...I'm just waiting for thweather in New england to break before I put it up for sale. I love that color orange.

Picked it up yesterday! Installed the Hot Head liners and a Poison Spider Evap skid today, and got all the stuff from the old Tacoma into the Jeep.
