Actually yes!

Crappy stock shock vs bilstein 5100

For whatever reason that I can't figure out, my jeep lists to the passenger side by about 3/4"

These things are so damn stiff

Ride is substantially better. It's a lot sportier. Less roll in the corners, less squat and dive and its gotten rid of many of my normal driving vibrations. These Stock shocks are worthless

It's coming together. I would say a coil spring is not sitting correctly. My Cherokee did the same thing. Ended up just going into place when I backed it out of the garage. Lol.

I had every intention to put the front truss on this weekend, but when I started putting everything together I realized I have to weld to the diff and my MAP tank is empty to control the temp of the cast iron.

So, all I was able to do was the Cs

The artecs are my favorite because they're made from 1/4 steel

i like black better than white, and there is enough reflection on the inside of the cab without having tinted windows that it was causing me a decent amount of eye fatigue even with sunglasses. my eyes are sensitive to light. if its any less than overcast i have to wear sunglasses or i get a migraine

Wont welding to the knuckle heat up the ball joint and damage it? Or do you have plans to replace them soon anyway?

marshal

more than likely, but they drive fine and are still tight - if anything i just severely shortened their life. i have a set of Poly Performance rebuilidables sitting on my shelf waiting to go on once these start to show their weakness

about 2 weeks ago when i was putting the C-gussets on, my friend daniel "nicked" (Read: completely severed) the ABS/Speedsensor line going to the passenger front. i fixed it today

lets get started

the sensor connects to the main harness behind the shock tower

first step is to get the caliper main bolts off. 13/16ths

I love your setup. I stole your idea on the bumper and added a $58 hoop to it. I think it turned out good. It'll work for now until I want to spend money on a new bumper.

looks great. im hoping in the next month or two i can convince the misses (now that my stash has dried up) that i need to spend $300 to get a new front bumper so i can finally put this winch on. at that point i think i'll be happy for a little bit :xxrotflma

I was following your build over on jeepforum but since I'm here.....

Did you change your mind on the short lift (2.25) and are now going with the currie springs? I think you had rockmens pucks installed as of now correct?

marshal

Burrito Enthusiast
i havnt changed my mind on it. i received the currie coils for free. i am debating whether i want to proceed with the 4" lift or leave it the way it is right now. its really nice not having to spend any extra money on the suspension components. granted, i do need new bumps and front brake lines.

i have no idea what a JK on 40's with 2" of lift looks like, because i dont think its been done before (in my current configuration)

that said, i wont know what it looks like till my jeep loses its DD status and i can buy 40's for it. at that point the tons be rollin in.

Looking beastly Mr.Marshal! Is that the or-fab tire carrier? How do you like it? I really want one. We gotta hit up dirty turtle soon!

marshal

Burrito Enthusiast
I love it. I first fell in love with their TJ version, and was first acquainted with it because it was the only tire carrier that Blaine Johnson and John Currie endorsed. The worst part about it is the install. It's not a hard one if you know where the hangups are - just time consuming

Have we met before?
