That's what I was afraid of. I am still a little confused as to why a 1500 watt inverter won't run a 700 watt microwave. Am I missing something?

The aux battery relay/solenoid is a common failure in these setups. I went through mine just after i bought it and found the aux battery was not being energized/charged by the alternator. I removed the solenoid and it was not connecting the internal contacts as it should. I replaced it with a heavy duty 200A version along with a new battery and it has been great since. The unit sits on the battery tray mount on the radiator side. It can be seen easier with the quick release portion of the intake system removed.

On the microwave note....I am running a 1000w Vector brand inverter in my trailer connected to two smallish 12v batteries wired in parallel. It runs my 900w microwave without any issues at all. On the other hand, my father has a 1000w inverter that refuses to run a 900w coffee maker even on my known good electrical system. My inverter runs it no problem. It's likely the root cause of your issues is the battery/aux relay dilemma, but don't discount a faulty/inferior inverter when the system is running properly. Congrats on the 1/0 cable use from the battery to inverter; most people overlook the wire gauge to wire length for these applications.
