Does Toyota need 7 SUVs? Here are sales figures.
Source: http://www.Goodcarbadcar.net
RAV4 (18,541 sold in April 2013)
Highlander (9793)
4Runner (3846)
Venza (3297)
Sequoia (962)
FJ Cruiser (262)
Land Cruiser (217)
Based on sales volume, the models that Toyota should consider discontinuing are Land Cruiser, FJ Cruiser and Sequoia.
Toyota would probably sell more of their flagship model (LC) if it wasn't priced for the 1% that can afford them. Get rid of the Sequoia and offer a Land Cruiser Base Model. I don't need wood grain, seat heaters, seat coolers, tvs, 20" rims, chrome, leather wrapped everything etc.
I guess I'm the only one seeing 4 SUV's on that list, and a lifted Corolla, Camry and Avalon.
No, you are not, but I'm so used to CUVs and other tall cars being lumped in with SUVs that I just gave up on making a distinction.
I agree, but can Toyota make a Land Cruiser base model work here? I think there would be buyers, but I don't see them making much profit after importing them. However, if they got rid of the Sequoia, they could start building LCs here with the excess capacity, which would save them some money. Would people here buy a NA-built Land Cruiser?
