2015 Tundra wheels on M416

Howdy folks. Figured I would share some pics of my latest project. I wanted to mount my stock steel wheels on my M416. This would accomplish two things. It would allow me to replace the old NDT tires that had developed a vibration at highway speeds, and would allow me to share a spare between the truck and trailer.

I ended up ordering hub adapters from Adapt-It to make the bolt patterns match. The lugs on the stock hub had to be cut down to allow the wheels to mount flush to the adapter. That was really the hardest part of the project.

Was able to source two used Michelin LTX M/S for a grand total of $90 installed. Went with 265/60-18 to preserve clearance between the tires and fenders. Would prefer an AT or MT tread for aesthetics, but couldn't find any used.

Took it out for a test drive this morning. Pulls like a dream! Initial tire pressure is 30 psi. Open to any suggestions on pressure.

I did that in about 2005 with a CDN101 and a 100 Series Land Cruiser. I spent about $400 on adapters........it was cool and all but not $400 cool

I was wrong about where I finally ordered them. They came from EZaccesories. Here is the link to the product.

http://www.ezaccessory.com/Wheel_Adapter_5_Lug_Custom_135mm_Up_To_150mm_p/5000-5000-2.htm

After chatting with them, I included these instructions with my order:

"I have an old military M416 trailer that I would like to run Toyota Tundra wheels on. The trailer hubs are 5x5.5, 7/16” studs, and 3.875” bore. The wheels are 5x150."

I had to cut down the stock lugs, but you could avoid this with a thicker adapter.

Not sure that was an option when I ordered. I contacted them with my requirements, and the custom was what they recommended.
