2017 Chevy Colorado ZR2

I'm seeing more and more people buying vehicles out of state, for the exceptional deals, and the great "road trip" experience. Other than the more complicated DMV issues, it sounds like a heck of a lot of fun.
Might be a way to see some country, and get a good deal at the same time.
I've been considering this process for the next vehicle purchase. Basically just shopping dealers with YouTube, or great web sites.
How cool would it be to load up a back pack, fly out, pick up the vehicle, and then run the TAT, or something similar back home? :victory:

Narrow minded individuals who can't see beyond their own spectrum ALWAYS put down others who offer a chance at something better. Believe what you want, or don't. Matters none to me.

1-wasnt trying to put you down
2-if such is true show proof

Not saying it snot possible just saying unlikely. I had a land Rover D2 for awhile and this was the case with that. They had a center diff lock installed but removed the cable. All I had to do was install the cable and now I have a center diff lock. The reason for this was because Ford bought out land Rover during this time and in an effort to save money they removed the cables. Not a big savings but still a lot when you take into account all the vehicles sold. This lasted for 2 years and on the 3rd year they got rid of the lock all together. Then due to customer backlash installed the lock and cable in the 04 models.

Now I say all that because there was a reason behind the scenes that caused this to happen. What reason would gm have to install diff locks in all models even though they aren't being used.

All I'm asking for is proof. If you prove me wrong i promise I will apoligize. I don't care to look myaelf because I just feel like this is the case unless there's some under lying reason for gm to do this.

I went and test drove one at my local dealer today. Not sure I want to order one but they said it'd be $44k for the V6 and add $3500 for the Diesel option. Which is what I would do if I get one. When we came back I pulled my 04 Lexus LX470 lifted on 35" nitto trail grapplers for reference. Snapped some pics also. Surprisingly the truck had a good amount of clearance compared to the Lexus. Honestly I think the Lexus has a slight bump on ground clearance but the truck really surprised me here. I think a small bump in tire size and the Truck would have more clearance then my Lexus does now. So maybe a 33" tire would be perfect. It drove very nice though. I lied the bed lined truck bed. I guess I'm a bit spoiled coming from my Lexus but the interior on the truck seemed a bit cheap when comparing to my almost 14 year old Lexus. This somewhat disappointed me. This wasn't a big deal because sometimes my plush Lexus interior is a bad thing for keeping clean, especially in the doors and this is where most of the plastic is located on the Colorado. Otherwise everything else is very similar to other Colorados. Anyway those are my thoughts from the little bit I play with it.

How much? $40k $45k?

Note up above. $44k for the gas. That's going to put you right at $50k with TTL in my state. Ouch.

From the Chevrolet website, ZR2 MSRP + destination charges w/o options w/ duramax is just under $47k. Z71 configured the same (w/ G80 locker) is just under $41k. And given the ZR2 V6 is $42.6k, I can see the Z71 getting heavily discounted especially if they're sitting next to each other on the lot.

One additional consideration is that the resale of a ZR2 will always be a higher percentage of MSRP than a Z71.

Agreed I was looking at that also. However if load or towing capacity is higher priority than Rock / ledge crawling the z1 might still have interest. Though I think GM needs to have a more modern view of their truck packaging. I bet they would sell more LT trucks with added i.e. Paid for lockers and the GMC SLT and Denali option with the fancy shocks.

The zr2 has some equipment that would go great on the other trims if it were an option.

Exactly. Clutch could get his base model ext cab 5 speed with lockers and shocks. Then he would have no complaints lol.

The quote I got was out the door price. So that's taxes included. Title and registration and any other DMV fees will be extra. In my state that's not too much above this price.

A neighbor just brought home a new Raptor. He said it was either the Tesla or the raptor i.e. His cash budget due to sold stock shares. He got the Raptor. It's almost a 100k truck with tax in our state.

So a baby stock desert runner zr2 seems pretty damn cheap in the 40-45k range.

They quoted you a price with tax but not other fees? Strange. But that does seem more "reasonable." Cool trucks, nonetheless. Just too much $, in my opinion.

Yeah they like to do that. I guess to make it seem a bit cheaper.
