31s and 4 inch lift on JK

Stock Rubicon tires are metric 32's and you can fit 35's on a 2" lift so you may end up with some large wheel gap.

Some sort of lost...
I would have to imagine this is a joke. Unless you're installing a 4" lift and don't have the cash for wheels and tires yet?

Stock rubicons are 32" tall. As mentioned, 35s fit with 2-3" lift.

A 4" lift that is actually a quality kit is going to be expensive, require exhaust and driveshaft mods, and be overkill unless you're running 37s or bigger. I've spent a lot already to make a 3.5" lift and 35s handle well.

Not a joke....yes sorry 32s.

Ibhave been offered a 4 inch lift from a buddy. Jeep is new and so tires are new....cant see doing away with the new treads for new ones. To buy new shoes would be over 1 k for bigger ones. Exst re route is $35. There is nothing in his tech notes about drive line

If you stick with the stock wheels you might want to look into spidertrax spacers. Most guys with stock wheels run them. They will move the wheels out to the edge of the fenders.

It's obviously in the eye of the beholder but personally I wouldn't go over 2.5" if you want to run stock tires. Here's mine with a 2.5" before I changed tires. ImageUploadedByTapatalk1369600761.954965.jpg

If you're looking for best bang for your buck at under $300, I'd do the 2" AEV lift. That still looks good with the stock tires and if later you are looking to add 33's the only thing I would recommend are the Spidertrax wheel spacers.

Here's my Sport with the stock 32" GSAs with a new 3.5" AEV lift, which definitely netted more like 4"+. I had it like this for a few days while I waited for my tires to arrive. Not a good look.

Or you could buy my take off Rubicon springs and shocks from our '12 JKUR. Only 10k miles on them and I dunno, a couple hundred bucks? No one has seemed to want them on craigslist, but I can post up some pics if you're interested.

In terms of benefits, the Rubicon springs are I think 1" taller, and since we got the towing package, they are stiffer yet I think at least in the rear. Best of all, the Jeep never had that rake that so many do out of the box and sat very level. I'd give you the brake lines too.

To put this into perspective, I did 2" springs from JKS on my JK with Bilstein shocks and brake lines totaling a bit over $700. The ONLY reason I lifted mine was to accommodate the weight of the winch on the front. I still have the stock tires and don't have a bunch of wheel gap. I'll be replacing tires here shortly and am going to get the stock size again.
