Are any of you running power inverters? If so, what wattage are you running? I'm thinking of having a couple of outlets in the rear so I can plug in my laptop and whatever else I might want to power.

I wired one up a while back. Its nice to have. Check out the early pages of my blog. I believe its an 800watt with a higher peak output. One thing I've learned with inverters. Get a nice one with less watts. The chinese ones will claim high watts, but won't handle it well. :26_7_2:

I've been drooling over this bumper for a week now.

This is made by Armorology and looks really beefy. I've got the stock rear bumper and am looking for something that can take a hit and a place to mount my spare (that isn't up on the roof!!!).

I also just bought a set of black spare tire steel wheels to replace my current stock wheels. The idea was to be a little different and have a look more like the FJ Cruiser that has the black steel wheels. I picked up 4 from Transwheel for $50/ea. I'll post a picture of them after they all come in and get mounted.

I'm also working on getting a dual band ham radio. My dad is a big "hammy" and has been advising me on what I should look for. He's sending me one of his hand helds so I can play (not transmitting of course!). I'm looking for something that will fit below my cd player in the dash.

IMO Armorology is making some of the nicest bumpers. But you have to leave your truck with them, in Colorado Springs I think, as they do not ship.

Thanks for the Transwheel.com link. Wish I had known about them when I was looking for another OEM wheel. I passed the link on to TacoDoc, who I think, is still looking for another OEM wheel as well.

They do, but even if it's $500 or so less it's still over $1000. One of the main reasons I wanted a new rear bumper is for the tire mount. I'll continue the search to see if I can get one made for less.

I wanna see this with the steelies on it!

Unfortunately, the wheels did not come. I called Transwheel last week to find out what happened to my order. They said they had no record of the order. In a way, I'm glad it happened because I was starting to get cold feet about it. I'm now seriously thinking about getting a set of Outback TX-1 wheels instead.

Ok, those TX-1's are nice, but not $800+ nice. I checked out the 16x8 and they were $220/rim (not including tax or shipping). That is crazy expensive. Why don't you get a set of LC/LX wheels instead?

Because I can't find any! I haven't placed my order yet and am still considering my options.

There are a ton of aftermarket wheels to choose from that's well below $800. American Racing AR-23 comes to mind. ~$120/rim, IIRC, or cheaper now. (16x8, 4.5 BS.)

But look for LC/LX wheels (ih8mud, ebay, craigslist, etc.). They can be found.

Anyway, it's your money, so get the TX-1's, if you like. They do look good.

I found a set of refinished Land Cruiser charcoal wheels for $130 each. They'll be here in 2 days!
