Wish I would have known you were over in those parts, would have jammed over to meet up with you... Looks like a fun trip.

Thanks for fixing the pics. I love that area. I was going to head out there for thanksgiving but the new suspension for my new rig will not be here in time. We may go anyway and take the subaru. I set the castle valley shot as my desktop. Is that shot up truck and the abode shelter in lockhart basin? Did you carry a GPS by any chance?
Thanks

Yooper's news just keeps getting better & better....

Great early morning shots and from Porcupine Rim. I always bypass Gemini Bridges for some reason, but clearly that needs to be included on my next trip. A few days in red rock country beats all.

Nicely done -

.

Thanks KC! Life takes some unforeseen twists sometimes in a hurry! I like the Gemini area because it is a good first place for people that I bring there for the first time. Especially those with a fear of heights. Helps to kind of break them in slowly. I always make that my first night's camp when I am there for some reason.

Yeah sorry I didn't get your messages till after we got out on day 4. I was thinking you were talking about Boulder, CO. I would have been willing to buzz over west your way had I known. Oh well, hopefully we can cross paths at some point. I'm going to be spending a fair amount of time in Colorado between now and spring so I feel alot of red rock country in my future. haha

If you want me to send you any full size originals let me know. I'd imagine that blowing up that size shot to a screen saver might make it a bit fuzzy. To answer your question about the night 2 camp, it is at the Chicken Corner on the Chicken Corner trail. It's just a few miles past the Lockheart Basin junction coming from Hurrah Pass. Its a great spot and I've never really seen too many people out that way. The end of the trail has a super narrow foot path that skirts the cliff to the Colorado. It is pretty gripping even if you aren't afraid of heights.

Kristian, you mentioned in my Trip Report about the WRT that you were out in Moab at the same time we were.

Now that I see your Rover, we saw it in town one day and my wife pointed it out to me saying "That's a nice Land Rover!"

It was parked somewhere in town. Sucks we didnt know each other were there or we could have camped out a night together and shared some lies about past travels.

We drove up to Hurrah Pass and the Chicken Corners section one day just to take in the sights....Small World!

Love your shots and makes me want to go back, although that snow you talked about was the reason we left:sombrero: San Diego has nicer weather this time of year:victory:

Ah no way! I'm sure I would have recongnized your rig had I saw it. Yeah, it would have been great to meetup. Small world indeed. The last couple of times I have been to the Moab area I inevitably missed running into several people I knew. I think I'll just post up in the Planned Adventures forum in advance the next time I am heading that way again. Lots of missed opportunities to meet people.

I'm not sure on the rib place, I don't know Evergreen that well yet. My fiance lives there and I've been spending time there between work stints. I've eaten at a few of the places in Evergreen itself, down by the little lake but nothing out by the freeway.
You will love it up in Evergreen, you will not want to leave it once you have been there. I live just down the road from you in Lakewood, Co.
My Wife and I were suppose to be in Moab about the same time you and your fiance were.
I was going to take my new wife to Moab for her birthday on the 26th of Oct. but her grandma is in hospice, so we couldn`t go yet.
Super nice photo`s, I was drooling on my keyboard since I haven`t been there in about 10 years.:sombrero:

I looked at this trip report again, and wow, the photos rock.
I've seen thousands of photos of Moab, I've been going there for about 18+ years, and you have photos that are real unique.
Your photos of Moab, are like one of a kind, I don't know why.
Please send me where camp 2 is, I promise I will not tell anyone.

Ah, Fins-N-Things!

Great trail. I really enjoy going for that trail every chance I get.

I have only done part of the rim trail, but that certainly was nice as well. I need to do it on a bike someday.

Ahhh, thanks.

I was down there in September with my wife, our honeymoon.

Camped on the flats, we biked and explored and wheeled !

Was an awesome trip ~!

Great pics, thanks.

Thanks! I think I just got super lucky with the light and the locations. The night two camp location is the Chicken Corners of the Chicken Corners trail. It is directly across from Dead Horse Point basically.
